New Product - CozyHoze Boss - Hose Management

Post by SleepGuy » Sat Jan 31, 2009 4:15 pm

As many know I have been working on simple solutions for common CPAP issues and finally wrapped my brain around the hose management issue enough to have a product out for beta testing. I want to show it off a little and find out if anyone has suggestions or comments to assist me in the process (in other words, help me avoid dumb mistakes).

My solution is small enough to fit in your shirt pocket and mounts to the wall using 3M Command Adhesive strips that are guaranteed not to damage surfaces and are removed with a simple tug on the tab (or it can be used for permanent mounting).

The product consists of a wall mounting hook and a spring loaded, self-retracting reel with just enough tension to keep the hose up out of your way while at the same time providing low-friction full range of motion for every sleeping position. Getting the tension to work right has been a little tricky but I think I've got it figured out. The product includes a pair of devices that work best when arranged as shown in the photograph: http://www.pur-sleep.com/content/?id=45

A few cpaptalk members have agreed to test the product (including the one who supplied the pic--thanks!). He reports that he took it with him through TSA security without a hitch. I still owe several others a package as soon as the companion product--a carryon CPAP water bottle--is ready to test.

Forum members have been very helpful in the product development process and I am looking forward to launching this to see what people think.
Try the Scented CPAP Mask with Pur-Sleep's CPAP Aromatherapy--CPAP Diffuser and Essential Oils.

I'm game for a Product Challenge. And let's include the "Hozer" while we're at it. It's always easier to make adjustments earlier in the process than later.

I am excited about this product. Saw it in your library when I was online earlier today ordering aromatherapy refills. Keep up the good thinking. BTW, if you are still giving some for a test drive I would love to be a guinea pig.

Hmmm, wonder if it would've affected my decision to buy the Hozer....

I had wondered if there was command-adhesive solution for hose hanging when I was at Wal-Mart the other day...but didn't see anything apparent...and any excuse to get free shipping

I would be interested whether an MSRP of $24.99 for a pair of these little things would be a fair price, along with a box of 12 Command Adhesive Strips (assuming of course that the product works as promised).

Hozer's a darn good product. But yours looks great, too. Be interesting to see how they stack up against each other, especially since Hozer, also, is a new product.

I'm one of the TESTERS?
I have a HOME Built HoseBuddy and HoseBeGone unit that is a pain in the BUT to use while TRAVELING!
I hate flying so all travel is by car or TRAIN which I used Fri. and the "CozyHose Boss" was GREAT & Easy to setup and take down -- SMALL ENOUGH to fit into a shirt pocket!

I'm at Biogen Lab in Canada and have eight lab tech's doing test on configuration and stress / tension on different placements.

They have made some GREAT points of changes that will make this "CozyHose Boss" product BETTER... We have also found a few Bug's that should be EASY to solve.

Again in the train it worked like a dream -- note the weight of the mattress isn't enough to make HoseBuddy and HoseBeGone work very well. Along with height of overhead bunk!

It is possible to make a setup so you have a cone of 48 inches of freedom so you can have things setup and be able to adjust mask setting up before laying down to sleep.
This also means you can FLOP - around on over 1/2 of a Queen size bed! -- Which I get accused of??

Sleep guy, looks promising. Looks great for roll over side sleepers like me!. I will definitely be one to try it. The price seems reasonable.

This looks wonderful, I am so tired of pulling the mask out of the hose, it's part of the reason I get comfortable during all the twisting and turning I do. I'd love to give it a try.

I know this is picky, and slightly OT...but on the Pur-Sleep website, why doesn't one or the other of the sleeping couple have on a mask? They do seem to be sleeping peacefully, though...

I have an open collection for the $2k it would cost for a custom photo shoot with models, a studio, cpap equipment, editing, and rights to the material. So far no takers. So "stock" art is as far as I've been able to advance this idea, as good as it is.

This is from Resmed's Sleep Apnea Information for Patients and Families

The problem is probably "OK, and which mask will they be wearing when we're not discussing a specific mask?"...
