Yake, which mask are you using? If we knew that we might be able to make some suggestions. Meanwhile, have you tried cutting the leg off a pair of panty hose tights and using that under your chin and tied atop your head?

I have tried several and have the best luck with the "DeLuxe". The wide strape is more comfortable and does a good job. My wife made a nice fleece covering for it and that eliminated the marks it was leaving on my face. I used this strap with the Opus 360 nasal mask and a couple of weeks ago switched to the ResMed Liberty (great mask, by the way). I thought I could get by without the strap with the FFM, but noOOOoo. Woke up several times with the worst cotton mouth I've ever had. After one night of that, I went back to the DeLuxe strap. Been doing fine ever since. Good luck with your quest. This stuff varies so much from person to person there really is no "one size fits all". I tried the Topaz for a while but the strips are so narrow they were cutting into the top of my head.

IMO--chin straps are near worthless. Suggest you do a search for "tape" or "taping". Worked for me!

Yake,
I've had very good luck with the combined effects of a chin strap
to relieve the tension of the chin trying to open and denture strips to seal the lips closed.

My chin strap is an "ace stype elastic bandage with a velcro closure sold for knee of elbow joint problems by Wal-mart for about $4.

I tried 3 or 4 chin straps. All of them did a fine job of keeping my chin up. What none of them could do was keep my lips closed. I tried taping, but every night I woke up in panic when I couldn't open my mouth. I finally gave up and went back to full-face masks until I discovered the Hybrid. The Hybrid is far and away my favorite mask.
