anyone use a resmed mask

Post by neworleans39 » Sat Jan 24, 2009 3:34 pm

i used to have a comfort select. it leaked all the time. the new resmed is better but, when it is too close to my nostril it wont send air. if too far away it makes alot of noise. just wondering anyone else had this experience.

Resmed makes many models of CPAP mask, you'll have to be more specific as to just exactly WHICH Resmed mask you are using - and the size would help as well.

I'm using a ResMed "Mirage Quattro," vented - I think there's an unvented version, as well, which I confess I don't understand. Wouldn't you rebreath all your air?

I'm about three weeks into it; it's my first, I know nothing of the rest, but this one - like all my equipment - strikes me as a well-thought-out design for which I'm grateful and of which I wish I'd never heard!

I'm curious about other user's experiences, and what swings the choice from a full-face mask to a nasal mask or pillow. I'm bearded, and don't care to shave (it's been about 25 years), and while my fit is good to excellent, the only leakage I can sense myself is around my chin.

Dav, I have a Swift LT. I don't understand what you mean that if you "put the "tubes" too close, it won't work and they get clogged".

By "tubes" do you mean the nasal pillows? And what do you mean by too close? The "tips" are supposed to fit SLIGHTLY into your nostrils and the rest fit snuggly against the nose around the nostrils.

NewOrleans, I don't quite understand your problem either. Specifically WHICH new Resmed mask are you trying to use? Any mask, if it is "too far away from" your face is going to leak badly and its going to make noises. Some call them "face farts".
