Resmed Software ? WHY

Post by chriscummings83 » Mon Jan 19, 2009 8:54 am

Why does resmed only view AHI, HI, AI.

Isn't NR and FL needed?

Will they ever update to make me beable to see NR AND FL.

I came from respironics, and I think that I'm going backwards in software technology and a lil foward on the equipment (autoset II).

Now I am faced with use the autoset and not know it all, or go back to my m - series and know it all but no auto warm up and other features?

I have really low AI like .5 and higher around 4 -10 hi. so I know that there has to be some FL problems but i can't tell

Ain't it GREAT?
Don't we wish we could design ONE machine that would be able to do it all?

The ResMeds basically count FL in their HI numbers, so what you're seeing is a combination of both.
They don't have any NR because they won't respond to (or pursue) a "frank" apnea over the pressure of 10 cm. for fear of triggering pressure-induced Central Apneas......so, if the apnea isn't preceded by flow limitations or snores above 10, they aren't going to try to treat it.

Did you ever run your M Series in the same basic configuration you're running your Autoset II in?

Probably because you are only using a ResScan card to transfer data from your flow generator to your computer.

If you use a ResLink module (which uses a SMartMedia card), you can transfer high rate data from your S8 Autoset II to your computer and look at in ResScan. This will give you a much finer resolution on a whole range of parameters if you feel you really need more data.

Cheers,

Bill
