As I am trying to gear up...I find I will need the SmartCard that goes in the Respironics machine that I have (no, not the M series) and my generously-machine-donating friend did not have one to go with...
I read people buy things on eBay but I have been uncomfortable with that as (a) you never really know what you're going to get, and (b) if things go wrong it's one more complication in a life that's already a little overwhelming.
Do you all have good experiences with eBay enough for me to give it a try, or is there somewhere else the board's collective wisdom would suggest? I've seen references to a cpapauction but my online buys are usually llbean, lands'end, camera gear, kayak gear....that's it.
And do any of these manufacturers make anything for us MAC USERS????
Thanks again, y'all. (and who is Mr. Green??)
best place to get a respironics smart card for old machine?

Re: best place to get a respironics smart card for old machine?
the cards for the tanks are identical to the m series - cpap.com sells them
exactly what machine did you obtain?

Make sure the machine you have will collect useful data, not all will even though they have the card slot. For the card, https://www.cpap.com/, has them. As far as Mr. Green, I think he's a MAC user. Re: best place to get a respironics smart card for old machine?
Goofproof-- Mr. Green may well be a Mac user -- hes the happiest looking one of the bunch
But how do I know if the machine will collect the data? I assumed if it took a smartcard that it would...?
Machine is the Respironics REMstar auto w/c-flex (w/bipap auto w/bi-flex for backup)
Thanks.

Thanks, I didn't realize cpap.com would sell 'em (geez, I just put in an order! )jules wrote:the cards for the tanks are identical to the m series - cpap.com sells them

You should be good to go. The reason Mr. Green looks so happy, his software won't run enough stuff to keep him busy, so he can just email and surf away.... Jimkayakdoc wrote:Goofproof-- Mr. Green may well be a Mac user -- hes the happiest looking one of the bunch

Re: best place to get a respironics smart card for old machine?
The bipap will need Encore Pro 1.5 for the tank, 1.6 for the m series, 1.8 if you are running Vista. Viewer will work of course instead of Encore Pro but no database. You can use later versions of the software.
The tank APAP just needs Encore Pro 1.4 (maybe even 1.3 will work). I have 1.4 myself and use it for the Pro 2 and APAP tank.
The Pro tank was a machine with a card that has no useful data, just like some of the Plus M-series (not all Plus have card modules). As Jim said, just cause it has a card, doesn't mean the data is worth anything.
