A problem solved

Post by kopoloff » Sat Dec 20, 2008 6:39 am

I've been using an Opus 360 nasal pillows thingy

All was going well until a couple of weeks ago - leaks were under control, so the therapy was working weel.

Anyway, I was having abrasion problems inside my nostrils, primarily RHS, so on the advice given by you wonderful people out there, I bought some lanolin cream and used it for 2 weeks. Well, the abrasion problems were reduced, but my leakline started to look like the Himalayas, my AHI's went stratospheric, and consequently I began feeling a bit discouraged, not to mention TIRED. Tried everything to no avail

Stupidly I didn't realise that the onset of the problem coincided exactly with the introduction of the Lansinoh.

Anyway, 2 nights ago I was feeling lazy when getting ready for bed, and couldn't be bothered going through the greasing up routine. And guess what happened? A great night, leak line more like the horizon in he middle of the ocean, AHI of 1.8, and a happy kopoloff!

Last night, same story. YEE HAH Success.

I wonder if anyone out there has had this experience/

K

I had a similar experience, I think, with using Ayr gel at night a couple of times early into my nose-training. I found it to be so slick that the nasal prongs slid easily out of place and allowed bad leaking with my Swift LT. What worked better for me was using the Ayr gel inside my nostrils and Aveeno with Aloe cream on the outer edges of my nares (to repair the raw feeling )---only during the daytime.
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.
