ResScan loaner?
ResScan loaner?
Is there someplace that leases or loans out the software for a limited amount of time? This may sound odd, but I don't feel that I have a need to use it for such an extended period that would necessitate shelling out $220 for the reader and software. The numbers on my LCD look good, but I'm still tired. Would like to look at the detail for a month or so and that is it. If I don't see anything significant then I would know for sure that my problem is not with my current treatment. It would be nice if the manufacturers would allow users to access something like this online. Since this takes away from their sells I'm sure this will never happen.
This was just a random thought. Doesn't hurt to ask... I hope.

Re: ResScan loaner?
Did you get your machine from a DME? If so, they should be able to print out a detailed report for you for a period of time, and mine did it for free. If it was a private purchase, you could ask a local DME what they'd charge for one download of say a month's data.
Not sure how long you've been at this, or how many hours of sleep you are getting nightly, but it can take a while to bounce back especially if not getting enough sleep. I know early on I got so little sleep plus was mouth leaking. Taking care of the mouth leaking helped with some of the wakeups, because the rush of air and dry mouth disturbed both my sleep and my treatment.
Hope you resolve the data issue.
Kathy

I would also be glad to receive the installation application for ResScan 3.7. I have the USB cable and used AutoScan 5.7 but since I switched to Windows Vista I can't use it anymore.
Thanks,

If the trial version offer still stands I could use ti as well. Vista strikes again!

The following is NOT directed at you specifically, DR, but.......
How come nobody takes some of these things into consideration when updating their computers?
Windows Vista is the "Windows ME" of their current software releases. MS made a huge blunder and are now trying to come up with other versions to replace Vista. The problem with all these new software releases is that there's the "corporate sector" out there in the real world who MS counts on for their big bucks revenue by forcing them to upgrade. Well, the corporate sector has pretty much told MS to "FO".......it's cutting in too much on the profits. And, with the economy going into the tank, companies (who can survive) are going to be even more cost conscious......and if their XP versions are still working, why spend money needlessly?
From my past experiences of working with PC software, it seems to take about three years for any generation of operating systems to "mature".....from when it was released. I've never been the "first on the block" to jump into buying new operating systems.......and never will be.

Wulfman,
I fully agree with your comments. However, I have bought a new laptop with Vista loaded on it and didn't want to format the hard drive and install the XP which of course can be an option. Any way, I am up and running with the ResScan 3.7.
Thanks,
DR

Just because you have a new laptop with vista on it, doesn't mean you can reformat it and use XP on it. Some of the new computers won't go back to a real OS. The hardware for some doesn't support XP. Jim Jump on Bill's Wagon, get a Pig in a Poke. Jimdarotem wrote:Wulfman,

It's not that reformatting to XP is a problem on any PC capable system. It's just a pain in the rear if the person only needs 1 program to run correctly such as ResScan but still enjoys the Vista setup.Goofproof wrote:Just because you have a new laptop with vista on it, doesn't mean you can reformat it and use XP on it. There are workarounds to the problem, but the best solution is to simply get hold of the 3.7 upgrade like we were looking for. It will all be a moot point though when Windows 7 is officially released.
Re: ResScan loaner?
That's my point! There's a "new and improved" operating system (and other programs) always waiting around the corner. Between the software and hardware companies, they're always trying to make your present system obsolete.....and suck more money out of your bank account to keep them in business.MaskedBandit wrote:It's not that reformatting to XP is a problem on any PC capable system.
