Snorers using up far more calories

Post by billbolton » Tue Dec 16, 2008 3:39 pm

"People with bedtime snoring and breathing problems may be using up far more calories while they sleep.

Those with the worst sleep apnoea symptoms burned 373 extra calories a day compared with those with only mild symptoms, US researchers found."

Then how come we're all overweight?
Seriously, I believe that sleep deprivation causes craving for higher calorie foods. The body is trying to regain balance and get energy.
I understand that a good round of sex burns up around 300 calories.

Whadya think about that?

I saw a similar article a while back. It seems in some children there snoring can use up so much energy
there normal weight gain is stunted.

I know I eat more just to try and stay awake and function!
