On one hand we clearly have the right-handed people of this world. But on the other hand we also have all the left-handed individuals...

But let's admit that our hands are full when it comes to those ambidextrous people.

Ok. I didn't intend to start a "fuss" among the members. I was just wanting to see if what my RT said was true. Anyway, I added Ambidextrous to the options.

Three pages of posts and I was the first to take the poll... It really was simple just click a choice. People here can sure take something simple and make it difficult

EDIT: I apologize if this was hateful, I woke up on the wrong side of the AHI chart so to speak-see my Variable Breathing post...

Hmm. J Edgar's on there twice. (By the way, Ry Cooder has a fun little song about a pig named "J Edgar". . . .)

I noticed, too, that the list leaves out one of the earliest lefties, a fellow named Ehud.

And I didn't notice any baseball players on the lefty list. What about Steve Carlton? Lefty Grove?

Anyway, I've known for a long time that I'm in my left mind. Where the rest of it's gone, I have no idea. . . .

Ha!

I just voted, I am left handed, left eyed, left legged, left footed, left side sleeper, and can hear better out of my left ear ( that's the side I wear my bluetooth headset for my cell phone and when on home phone, that's the ear I use to.
My Dad and my Brother we're left handed to, my Mom and Sister are both right handed.
I have 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren and they are all "RIGHT HANDED"!!!
I to, had those EVIL mean teachers that yelled at me for "using the wrong hand", they we're awful I think that is why I was a shy scared little girl growing up... They used to make me feel like freak or in front of the whole class, no compassion for us left handed people at ALL!!!
But, and this is strange, I can only use my "right hand" when I use scissors, I find that very odd !
And I totally agree with "Goose" that "Sandy Kofax" was the best pitcher in history, just awesome.

Yep, Koufax was something.

And left-handed batters . . . The Splendid Splinter, Mr. Theodore S. Williams.

And we're just getting started on the list of great lefty ballplayers. . . .

Appearing to be simple requests for consensus information, when in reality,
....if that is, infact, where you are at,
at the time you choose to participate..........
they force you to make choices that......
force introspection.........
and then internal decisions have to be made......
and "stands" MUST be taken......
and declarations must be made......
and soon all you have is a big.....fuss.

....and.........then....................

suddenly people are feeling pigeon holed and unsure of where they fit,
did they make the correct decision?.......
and, then, just as I suspected, lists are created........
nothing more sinister than a list.........
...........
...are you on the correct list?? are you NOT on a list????
...have you been black listed??? have you been slandered by being on THE list.

........................
and then, from outside pressure the choices are expanded......causing even more angst.
It just goes on and on and on and on........

........................... ................ ..., .........., .................

............and if you are in fantasy when you are attempting to
make these choices.............well, all bets are off on that outcome.

Oh. My. I am a natural leftie, but like all of us, I have had to learn to do many things right-pawed. When learning a new skill, my natural instinct is to begin with the left. Sigh. I, too, had several of the 'evil teachers' who did their best to break me of being a leftie. It didn't work. I also had an aunt (the Wicked Witch of the North) who called me 'spawn of the devil' for being left-pawed in my hearing as a child, and whom I once overheard urging my parents to 'do something' about me. Just what was to be done wasn't specified, but I remembered reading that excess kittens were often tied in a sack and drowned, so I worried...

Thank the gods we don't try to change a child's handedness these days. Teachers nowadays are instructed to allow the kids to develop their orientation naturally, to treat it as a natural outcome of their genetic makeup, like being blue eyed, or red haired...Image

This may have nothing to do with anything but---I read the other day that if you're right-handed, you usually chew mostly on the right side of your mouth, and vice versa. If that's true, I wonder where that puts those ambidextrous folks out there---in the middle, both sides equally??

Don't know if this means anything, but I've always wondered why I mostly chew on the right side of my mouth. I'm right-handed. So, now I'm wondering if there might be some truth to that.

Interesting. I DO favor chewing on my left side - but - I like to eat so I'm ambi-jaw-erous too! Or should that be ambi-chewer-ous?
