The Remstar M series machine works very well and the nasal mask is very comfortable unless you need to scratch your nose,Main problem so far is waking up halfway through the night with extreme dry mouth, whats the trick?

Depends on what kind of mask you're using.

Well, I just catched
the nasal mask is very comfortable
.

It still can be. I have FFM, but if I smile, it leaks at the corners of my mouth, and
mouth-breathing with FFM still gets your mouth dry even if the pressure is preserved.

There is no telling what kind of dreams one might have - there are sleepwalkers too.
What I mean, if the cheek muscles are tense, it affects the mask like smiling.

On the other hand, if the leak is big, I guess the smile tends to disappear .

Not sure how the humidifier would be a factor as i'm supposed to be breathing through my nose which would bypass the mouth area. Would a full face mask be a solution?

Humidifier?
Anyway, the humidifier keeps the air more humid so it doesn't dry your mouth/nose/throat that much.
You are supposed to breathe through your nose, but are you sure there are no exceptions?
If you breathe through your mouth once in a while, that dries up your throat and mouth, or if
you let air escape through your mouth during the night it'll dry up your throat and mouth.

I had that problem before I got a full face mask: maybe partly because my tonsils were removed when I was a kid,
I probably had to use my throat muscles to keep the air escaping through my mouth, and after a couple of hours
in a sleep I gave up, relaxed my throat muscles and let the pressure out: in from the nose, out from the mouth.
Then I woke up and took the mask off. My throat felt like I had been breathing sandpaper instead of air.

For me I had to make a huge effort to keep my mouth closed, and now after 1 month its just natural. And keep that doctor, sounds like a good one if hes already offered to switch out masks, look at cpap.com to get a feel of what you might want before you go back, then you can try them on and see which feels best to you.
