face marks
I have a full face mask, and it has a silicon liner. In order to prevent leaking, I have to have it pretty tight. The problem is, when I wake up in the morning, the red mask lines stay on my face for a couple of hours, and the area inside the mask is red. I sleep on either side so it pushes on the mask and it digs in my face. Any wise ones with any solutions out there? Suggestions? I have tried different masks and different sized liners but nothing has changed.
Re: face marks
You might want to buy one of those Cpap pillows you can get online, pretty pricey, but what we did is buy a memory foam standard size pillow at Target and cut out both sides in a half moon shape with a carving knife, so the mask hangs over the side. This was one of those valuable ideas I got from Carbonman, and it works.

There are three of us at work who use nasal masks - before i started on cpap, I never noticed the lines on their face, now we each joke about the mask lines each morning. Think about a cpap pillow - there are a couple of them out there. They have cutaways so the mask doesn't squash on your face as much.Tcamillemars wrote:I have a full face mask, and it has a silicon liner. In order to prevent leaking, I have to have it pretty tight. There is also a thread on the forum where someone took a memory foam pillow and cinched it up with a sort of belt to make the indent on the side.

I had a similar problem and follow forum member, Julie recommended CereVe, the hydrating lotion, (not the moisturizer). Her dermatologist recommended it to her. It costs about $10 in CVS and will last a looooooog time as you only need 1 drop. In the evening, I wash my face and then put it on with my finger where the mask touches my face. It improves the seal of the mask. In the morning, I wash my face again and put it on any spot which is red. I had a red chapped spot under one corner of my FF mask where rainout accumulated. (I usually lay on my right side.) CereVe made it disappear in about a week. Lately, I haven't had any red spots in the morning.Tcamillemars wrote:I have a full face mask, and it has a silicon liner. The latest development is that I had a age spot for 15 yrs. where I put the lotion and It now is disappearing.
I've never used any moisturizer or cream on my face but this stuff is fantastic and definitely worth a try.

Re: face marks
Ed, I just got the CereVe Hydrating "Cleanser". It's in a green pump bottle. The Pharmacy made a mistake and had ordered the cream for us. I'm using it, very nice after my shower, and before bed, but my husband uses the mask and the cleanser. Do you use it to wash your entire face or just use it around the mask lines or both? Thanks,

I rub my face with a damp washcloth and leave it damp when I put the cleanser on. I put it on where the mask touches my face. I also wash my face in the morning and put it on again where the mask touches my face. I don't have any red marks or irritation, (looked like chapped skin), where I had it before. Now I have noticed, (beside removing age spots, see above), if I put it on my whole face that it prevents windburn when I work out in the wind on a cold day. I think it's a great product.
