Wow...I guess you can tell I'm a newbie because I never even thought about it being SPAM. Thanks for the entertainment...and the education.

bump.
I'm waiting to hear about how someone determined this was "spam" - whatever that is anyway.

Believe it or not, we have an annual Spam Fest here where I live and one of the activities is a tournament to see who can throw a chunk of spam the farthest

We need our own forum tournament to see who can give "thedean" the worst bashing

As another newbie, I second this! Could someone clarify? Are we not supposed to talk about where we buy our equipment unless it's cpap.com? That doesn't seem possible. Or is it just that it's an unregistered guest doing this that's a problem? I don't want to step on any land mines in future posts!

Oh, don't worry about that. We haven't actually killed or maimed anyone.

To clarify - We sometimes get Guests who come here to spam their stuff assuming we are a bunch of mindless zombies desperate to try anything in exchange for our wallet. Other times they will register and pretend that they are CPAP users who have found the next best thing to sliced bread and shill their spam assuming we are a bunch of half-mindless zombies desperate to try anything in exchange for our wallet.

As for “thedean” Guest … just do a search on “thedean” and you will get a butt load of posts/threads that show the only reason for his/her posting here is to … uh, plant land minds in the forum threads.

If you are really a genuine CPAP user here, most of us can figure it out and you should have no fear of talking about any equipment regardless of where you purchased it. If you are a Guest we can still figure it out except that a Guest post usually draws more suspicion than a registered user. And if a spamming shill registers to try and sneak in the front door, we can usually figure it out too except it may take a little longer.

One of the beauties of this forum is that our sponsors, cpap.com, do not limit discussions about their competition. I'm sure they have determined it is a healthy thing and they price match any legitimate competitors price anyway. Their service is second to none, so I can't figure out why anyone would go anywhere else......
This forum is open for any discussions and it is a credit to Johnny and company that so much is allowed!!!! It's the biggest reason I stuck around after some of the others I visited and participated in. Don't like being told what I can and can't say about the subject matter. Smells like censorship, but it's their forum, so it's their prerogative -- but that's why I'm not there ....

As DS and Wulf have said -- generally it's pretty obvious when someone shows up to shill whatever it is they're "marketing"....

"thedean" shows up in threads to spread hate, discontent and put doubts in newbies minds, so any bashing he/she gets is thoroughly deserved and due to obvious sensitivities, we are really pretty light on him/her......Something about the 7 words you can't use on the forum???? (I can still do Carlin's routine pretty well after all these years..... )......

cheers

Sometimes.....sometimes not. When that thread surfaced the other day, I thought the user name "kilrush" sounded familiar, but didn't search the user database......and since the newest posts were two months old when it got resurrected by the "guest", it made some of us suspicious.....again.....especially when those types of things have happened many times in the past.

Don't know......
