No more Target Shapeable Pillows???
No more Target Shapeable Pillows???
I ordered a Target Shapeable pillow online (we don't have a Target nearby) back in late June. It was backordered til August, however I got this email from them today:

I really like my Target shapeable pillow. It's very easy to use with my headgear.
My Target had plenty of these pillows, so I picked up an extra. I'll be happy to send it to someone who needs it (for cost + shipping). First person to reply can have it.
If more people want one I'll be happy to see if they still have more.

One soft, sweet song's just enough to clear my head...
Re: No more Target Shapeable Pillows???
I found a shapeable body pillow at Target that was more shapeable than the shapeable head pillows and got that instead. The shapeable head pillows seemed to be stuffed with some sort of very slippery fiberfill, but they were stuffed so full that it couldn't slide around and shape.
You might try looking for one of those.
The body pillow seems to have the same stuff in it, but has room for it to move around. It wasn't described as shapeable, though: just as a body pillow.
I use it for a head pillow and like that I can shake the fill out of one end when I want a firmer pillow. It could even be made into two head pillows without much effort -- just stitch two rows down the center and cut.
The only problem I've had with it is sometimes I burrow my face into it so much that the Breeze CO2 port gets impaired and that causes line noise sufficient to wake me up (before I suffocate). Otherwise very comfy and helpful with the interface.
(If you want to look for it: They come in medium tone colors like green and lavender and the covers are some sort of soft brushed fabric.)

Why is this pillow recommended? I bought one. It doesnt impress me.
It has been recommended by several member who have been very impressed with it. I am one! It allows the mask and headgear to "sink" into it and doesn't disturb the seal. That makes it a highly recommended pillow to me and several others here. Also, I find it very comfortable. It doesn't become a hard rock like many other much more expensive pillows do after a month of use.
It can take more than one or two nights of use to "break it in."
I wonder what you expected? In what way were you not impressed? And the extremely low price of $12.99 is another reason to recommend it.
I'm going to check my local Targets to see if I can find more. I might want to put a few away for the future. I really love this pillow, even if I didn't have to deal with a mask, etc.

Think there may be more than one sort of pillow labeled shapeable at Target because the ones labeled that at the Target near me didn't seem to shape at all when I squished them.BrewSwain wrote:Why is this pillow recommended? I bought one. It doesnt impress me.

You can't tell that just from squishing them in the store. I don't want to mislead you. By shapeable, it doesn't mean that it retains a certain shape as a Tempurpedic foam type pillow would. For me, it is just a very comfortable pillow that my mask can sink into while I am sleeping on my side that doesn't break the mask seal. Simple, comfortable, very reasonably price = a winner for me.

I have purchased the shapeable pillow from Target and really like it. It is not that it is all that different from other pillows that I have used in the past but the filling is very soft and easy to fluff "just right." My head sinks in nicely and the pillow doesn't bother my mask even when I turn from one side to the other; the pillow just "shapes" to accommodate the new position. You can't beat the price for such a comfortable pillow. Do you "need" a shapeable pillow or any other special pillow to be successful in this treatment? Not really, but comfort really helps. Like so many other aspects of this treatment, pillow choice boils down to personal comfort.
