real life scenario:
My oldest brother, who didn't have much in the way of material goods or a music collection, but did have a DVD player that played CDs, asked me to make a CD for him, to listen to in his "end stage" of pancreatic cancer.

He asked me for these recordings on the CD:
Joni Mitchell - The Circle Game
Leonard Cohen - The Story of Isaac
Peter, Paul and Mary - The Wedding Song (this particular live version, because of the guitar work)

I asked him, "why these?" and he answered that at certain points of his life they held special meaning for him, but he didn't elaborate.

He passed away at age 50, and OSA is one of the few problems he didn't have.

There are indeed worse conditions to have than OSA ... I'm very sorry for the loss of your brother. Music does hold special meaning for most everyone's life journey.

My list would be a cross between echo's and that of goose ... cept I would have to throw in some early Rush like Fly by Night or Caress of Steel and also some Jethro Tull like Aqualung or Thick as a Brick and nobody has mentioned ELP's Tarkus or Brain Salad Surgery or YES Close to the Edge or Fragile (yes, I used to control a lot of substance about 30 years ago ).

I don't think I saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Johnny Winter, Billy Joel, Smashing Pumkins, Talking Heads, Allman Brothers, Foo Fighters, Johnny Cash, Devo, Stevie Wonder, Nirvana, The Doors, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Queen, Thin Lizzy, Green Day, Neil Young, The Cars, Al Green, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Bonnie Raitt, Steely Dan, Elvis Costello, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Depeche Mode, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Marvin Gaye, Boston, Super Tramp, Jeff Beck, The Clash, Outlaws, B 52's, Blue Oyster Cult, Radio Head, King Crimson, Rage Against the Machine, Deep Purple, Collective Soul, Doobie Brothers, Third Eye Blind, Kansas, James Taylor,Todd Rundgren, Blink 182, Steve Miller, Police, Stone Temple Pilots, Electric Light Orchestra, Goo Goo Dolls, Kool and the Gang, Junior Brown, Ted Nugent, Chuck Mangione, Bad Company, ... and then there is still the New Age, Jazz, Flamenco, Blues, Country and Western too lists

I'd also add Leon Russell to that list.....Marley & Tosh, the Pretenders, the Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Van Halen, Timbuk 3, Xtreme, Humble Pie, Procol Harum, All the MoTown sound - Smoky Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Supremes, Temptations, oh my, there's so much music, so little time!!!!!!! I could go on for pages, but Roberto hit a good lot......

I think my shortest mix is about 4 hours, and I've done some that are 8-12 hours -- solid mixed MP3's - great for parties (I use Mixmeister (google it. It's the best mixing software I've found) to do my mixes and do NOT use beat matching.....I still mix the old fashioned way........by ear )

Good stuff. Is there some statistical association between OSA and good taste in music? For that double-deaf study we'd need one serious control group, because this group is obviously big-time out of control.
