VERY HAPPY to report this evening Mom also was discharged after receiving a 3 units of blood.
She's bruised, battered, but has some stregnth back, and will recover more comfortably at home.
Her primary Dr even called this evening to check on her, and I attest strongly to the fact all
the prayers is what enabled her to have such a steady recovery time. THANK YOU ALL from the
bottom of my heart. God Bless you all.

Could one of you good people please explain to this unrepentant secular humanist why the "grace of god" did not prevent the idiotic accident in the first place, thus avoiding all this worry to the relatives?

Truthfully...after seeing the accident scene, I just know the Lord played a part in the survival
of those involved, and that I do not question.
I worked in EMS (emergency medical services) in college, remain in the medical field today, and
still wont try to make sense of life's challenges, as I chose to just rejoice in the miracles that
allow us to be here everyday, with those we love.
Enjoy and embrace, cherish, every single day......as we never know.

Glad she is better.

God gave man freewill and in doing so man sometimes make mistakes. Without pain and suffering how is man to know that God has a hand in miracles? Miracles happen for a reason.

Sometimes we have to go through pain in order to relish the good times.

Amen, SleepCarol !! You are right on target with what you said. I am thankful that your Mom has come home. She will feel better in her own bed, with family around. Will keep you in my prayers for both of your parents recovery. Blessings,Melinda

That is very good news... I'm sure your mom is very happy to be back home albeit bruised & battered.

I had a close call last week in the car... almost got T-Boned on the driver's side by someone pulling out of a gas station onto the main road. Gotta be so careful out there what with all the drivers on the road not paying attention, the drunks, etc etc.

Cuddly,

This may be a difficult question for you. For us faithful believers it is the most difficult question. We often struggle with this question when tragedy strikes.

We believe that the earth and mankind are not here by some fantastic accident ongoing over billions of years. We believe that the universe and each individual were created by God. So if all was created by God, it logically follows that any good that happens, i.e., a speedy recovery from injury, is only through the grace of God.

We also believe that God gave man free will. Man, not being God, makes mistakes and commits sin. The result of this is often suffering.

If you have a deep interest in why God permits suffering, visit a bookstore or a library. Believers struggling with this question have written many books discussing this and their thoughts may shed some light on the problem for you.

Does the kind of outpouring of prayer seen in this thread help to heal victims? I don't know. But if I am ever seriously injured I will appreciate any prayer offered on my behalf.

Best regards,
Rooster

The same logic is non-unique for other secularists including myself. For me, the answer to your question is quite clear and simple as it is also for many who have posted onto this thread (though from a different point of view).

It is the MIND that has free will to believe or not believe, to realize or not realize, to find logical explanations or illogical explanations. The mind is fantastic indeed and while my mind cannot offer prayer, it can offer good will and compassion perhaps on an equal level as those who call themselves faithful, spiritual, Christians, or whatever.

So with that, I’ll leave this thread back to its intended purpose and wish better health to those less fortunate and continued health to those more fortunate than I.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

What I do find interesting reading all these posts is that I cannot find one single expression of thanks to the doctors or medical staff who were instrumental in helping this woman recover. That seems a shame. I always wonder if a person such as this unfortunate one, had just been carried home and put to bed if god alone would have been able to cure them without the aid of modern medicine and clever people. I have grave doubts.

I now wonder if, after all these off topic posts, this discussion group can now revert to its proper business i.e. advice on sleep apnea problems.

Humanist, huh? Is that another word for self-appointed moderator?

And since you're so sharp, why should she thank the doctors here of all places? Wouldn't you think that should occur at the hospital, directly to the doctors? You sure haven't shown any humanist gestures in this thread---only antagonism that callously disrupts some very warm thoughts among humans who don't mind group support.

Here are two relevant definitions for you:

humanist- One who is concerned with the interests and welfare of humans.
troll- To utter a posting designed to attract predictable responses or flames; or, the post itself.

Cuddly,

You have used a weak and intellectually bankrupt debating technique (often used by politicians): Attribute a position to your debate opponent that your opponent has never taken and will never take. Then proceed to defeat the position you created.

No one who offered prayers in this thread would advocate foregoing modern medicine to rely on prayer alone. To the contrary, in case you haven't noticed, this forum is made up of hose heads seeking the most advanced xpap technology we can afford.

Our prayers for our seriously ill friends are often directed toward finding a skilled physician who will perform the best that science and God allows.

Regards,
Rooster

Good buddy DS,

Glad to see we continue to agree on many points as I am also an avowed secularist and very happy to live in a country that does not allow the government to interfere in religion.

CuddlyDuddly, We know that we need doctors in order to get better.Yes we did not say that we are thankful to the doctors but that is a given. I know God gave man the ability to learn to care for us. So in our prayers we are thankful to the doctors but for me God has to come first in the mix. Sorry you don't get that thought ,I am sure the folks that prayed added the doctors. But I am sure we will get off topic as you call it again if someone in the group feels the need to as for prayer. Yes prayer may not be what the forum is about but in a way it is when you hear all the cries for help is that not a prayer??? Well I will get off the soap box not trying to start anything but could not help but reply. Blessings,Melinda
