Want an M Series Whisper Cap?

Post by Babette » Mon Oct 13, 2008 10:00 am

Well, I had to spend down the last of my FSA money, so I bought some cpap toys from our host. Got the Whisper Cap for the M Series, and discovered my Auto doesn't have any attachment holes to plug the cap into.

Anyone want an M Series Whisper Cap? What do you have to trade?

Cheers,
Babs

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Babbette

The whisper Cap hooks in to the M series behind the filter slot.
Place it like corner to corner and turn till it snaps in place.
It does help with noise.

So, the little tabs actually go into the grey foam filter? Hmmmm.... Might have to try that. Sounds weird, but what the heck. I currently have a $14 hunk of plastic trash. Can't hurt to try that.

Thanks!

I, too, have the M Series Auto and was just about ready to order a whisper cap. The whistle had subsided nicely for a few days but last night it was worse than ever! I was ready to toss the machine last night after two hours of trying to fall asleep. The whistle seems to nearly disappear when I switch it from C-Flex to A-Flex, run it a few minutes with the mask on, then back to C-Flex again. I have no clue why, but that's what helped me twice now.

If the whisper cap doesn't fit the machine, there is no point in my ordering one. I'll keep watch on this post to see if you are able to get it to fit, Babs.

I should write to CorgiGirl. She just bought some, and got them to work. Maybe she can give me a tutorial.

I'll keep you posted, Lynne!

LOL,

Well, I want one, not because I know what it is, but now I want one. Of course, I have the apap too, so it's not like I can use it either it would seem. However, I do have some things to trade:
1. used earplugs (they're foam and dark brown from having rolled them between my fingers so many times, and they smell a little)
2. A giant ball of bellybutton lint held together with generous amounts of toe-jam.
3. Something in a reusable ziplock container that has grown its own mold farm. I don't know what used to be in it, but the mold will probably have eaten it anyway by the time it arrives.
4. Two lovely daughters, age 6 and 2. the 2 year old will want to sleep between you and that Craigslist feller you keep talking about. Even if you WANT to have kids, she has sexdar and will stop that IMMEDIATELY.
5. A 1974 Pinto, slightly charred.

All will be shipped postage-due.

Just unplug the cord next to the filter, tip cap so it looks like a diamond and twist it in place so it is square, then replug the cord. The cap makes the noise a little different in pitch and might help a little but will not muffle much.

What are you doing with my Pinto? Give it back!!!!!

Boy, as tempting as this list is, I think I want to try installing it per the instructions give above, first.

Cheers,
B.

Don't get rid of that Pinto, it can be used to store your old Resmed S8's in. Jim

Babs not be be a smarty but there should have been a white piece of paper (in the plastic bag) with pictures of how to install this engineering afterthought. If you can't find it post back and I'll scan one for you.

It is tricky to get in and goes only one way as explained above tilt the top hole away from the card reader so the tabs fit in with the filter. Then twist back towards the card reader. I know, I know, it's not you but it will fit. Remove the power cord if its in your way.

As for the other poster - have you looked at the full moon? Yep, it IS Full. I thought gee what could be wrong? Or is it something more?

I hope you got yours to work. I can confirm it fits on the M - Series Auto with Aflex. The above mentioned instructions do work.

And it did make it about half as loud. I like it.
