Re: Introduction... and my ongoing saga

I'm going to leave the settings as they are for a week, gather the data, see how it goes and re-evaluate the situation next week.

Although I did not feel it with the mask on I did notice quite the puddle inside the mask this morning. I suspect I have the humidity setting a little too high... seem to be going through distilled water at an alarming rate.

I also noticed even though I turned the machine off this morning there was still a very light stream of air coming out the tube... this eventually stopped. Perhaps a feature of the machine to assist with drying the tube out in the AM? I never noticed this with the trial machine... an S8 Elite II.

The respiratory therapist at the supplier appears to operate more on the sales side than on the treatment side. Now that I have purchased the equipment and they have my cheque she does not want to see me for another month. You'd think she would want to see me again next Monday to evaluate how it is going with this new machine and make adjustments or offer advice as necessary. I get the feeling I've been cut loose and am pretty much on my own... unless I want to purchase more stuff or have an issue with the machine. It seems a lot of us feel this way... thus the reason for these forums.

Not that the place is overrun with bugs, quite the contrary, but lets face it... bugs and spiders often get into houses. I don't like the idea of perhaps a spider crawling down the hose and making a home inside the machine... or worse getting blasted in the face with the critters."

Indeed. Do Not travel to Arizona. i have personally experienced the following: a foot-long centipede IN my bed (baad bite),
a scorpion in the Bermudas i had stepped into (bad bite), a black tarantula jumping out of a black swimsuit in the drawer (aaaaghhh),
another crawled out of the toaster, yet another wandered across the ceiling above my head (scream), a scorpion fell out of the skylight
onto my head (unprintable), a rattlesnake curled up in the shower, i stepped on a scorpion one night (baaaaaad bite), a black widow crawled over my pillow just as i was about to lay my head down...well, and i thought I was paranoid, heh heh.

But now we are in Wisconsin, away from the buggies, and now you are discussing bugs in Canadia! just when we want to move there.
You must come live with us; there are NO critters in Nova Scotia LOL

Leonbergergirl: It looks like I will be moving to Texas from Ottawa, Canada sometime in the new year. Methinks I'm going in the wrong direction and should be headed further north to avoid the bugs.

carbonman: Ya ya... But all kidding aside... I know that you and I and many others here are capable of playing an active role in our therapy to ensure some measure of success but there are many others out there who are at the mercy of these "health care professionals" and "respiratory therapists" who are basically acting as sales agents rather than health care professionals. Given that we may as well visit a retail store (online or bricks & mortar) to purchase the equipment and research the rest of it online.

Results are getting better. This new Quattro mask definitely fits better than the last Quattro I had. I am definitely feeling more energetic. Suspect I'm going to need a hose cover what with the colder weather gradually setting in and since I like sleeping in a cold room. Any recommendations for that? Resmed cover or the Snuggles one?

Results for last night below:

Usage: 8.11
Press: 10.2
Leak: 0.1
AHI: 7.4
AI: 0.2
HI: 7.2

Achieved the best results ever since starting on the machine last evening.

AHI: 6.0
AI: 0.1
HI: 5.9

Pressure settings still the same, but I engaged the "Settling" for 15 minutes where previously I had not be using it.
