I bought the pillow that you found and I think it was a BIG waste of money. My face does not line up with the gaps in the pillow, so everytime I rolled over I had to adjust the pillow so that my mask would fit in that cut out hole. Plus it was too thick at the neck and was very uncomfortable. It works for some people, but not for me.

Ha! When I first read the topic I thought I read CRAP BED PILLOW. My eyes really get fatigued at the computer lately.

Several years ago I bought a Tempurpedic pillow. Not the neck pillow, but the one that is made like a conventional one. My head settles in nicely and my mask hangs off the side. Worth every penny (not cheap) spent.

This pillow does look interesting though, but it would take more time for me to get un-used to mine. Are you bidding on it? If so, good luck.

Thanks all for replies, as always very interesting and accurate!! No, I'm not buying it, but it seemed interesting to try to eliminate mask marks on face!! I deleted it from wishes list!! Thanks again!

One of our forum members designed a pillow and has offered to send a PDF pattern for it to people who are interested in making the pillow themselves or having it made. Here's the link to that thread:

We bought this from our local medical supply store($55) with no return policy. My husband slept on it for a total of 1hr trying to keep his face in the small slot. If he didn't get it just right the other end popped up against the back of his head. So we cannot give a yes vote on this one. We did just buy 2 Shapeable Pillows from Target based on someone's suggestion here and he has slept 2 full nights on his side with a FF mask. Less leak. Much better and only $12.99 each.

Here is the link to the Shapeable pillow at Target. I do not know if it is available anywhere else. I have searched on Google for the pillow, and there appear to be a few that are at least similar in concept but may not actually be the same.

They are available at Target stores for under $15.

Karen, just curious about whether you use the soft one or the firm one of Target's Shapeable pillows. The reviews are confusingly "all or nothing," which seems unusual.
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.

I use a down pillow and love the way I can scrunch it and wad it up and have support in just the right spot.

I didn't know there WERE soft and firm options! I just checked and didn't see that choice on the Target site. Are you sure that the Shapeable comes in two firmnesses? (Is "firmnesses" a word? Alternately, "softnesses" cannot be one, can it?)

If asked, I would probably opt for a soft one, as I was a down pillow user. However, the down pillow was too squishy and didn't hold the shape as well as the Shapeable. Thus, maybe the firm? I guess the best thing to do is to go see the pillow at a Target store to see if you can squish it into an acceptable shape and firmness for you.

I really am no Image at all...sorry.

Karen,
