Whistle while you sleep...

Post by Flying_Norseman » Wed Sep 17, 2008 8:49 am

Has anyone who owns the Swift LT found a way to get it to stop that little whistling noise? I think it is slowing driving me insane.

Aw, shucks, Norseman! I thought you meant YOU were whistling in your sleep, not the Swift LT!!!

I did that one night. Only time I'm aware of. I was awakened out of a sound sleep by a sharp whistle, almost as if whistling for the dog. Once my heart stopped racing and I couldn't find any source for the whistle I laid back down and was just dozing off when there were two soft whistles. Only this time I was still awake enough to realize that it was air gently escaping thru my lips to one side of my mouth, I think I remember it being the right side, close to the corner of my mouth. Weird!!

Altho I've had air escape thru my lips since (the lip flutters are very common for me) I've never heard or been aware of another whistle.

LOL no it isn't me doing the whistling. The Swift LT has the tinniest of whistle noises that I am convinced will drive me stark raving mad over time. The problem is that everything else about the mask is great. Oh well, I have been losing weight to the point that my pressure has gone down from 12 to 8 and the sleep doctor feels that if I keep it up I won't need the machine anymore. Hopefully that will happen before I become a raving loon.

I have to keep a fan on all night to drown out the whistling noises (and help with the hot flashes, but we won't go there). Try some white noise. It's hard to get used to but easier than the whistles.
