This is the opposite way up to which the card has to be inserted into the flow generator.
The reader is designed to take full sized Smartcards which have the contacts on their top surface (which is the "normal" orientation for a full size Smartcard).
Cheers,
Bill
Bill,
This is a great comment. To bad the computer gurus didn't make the card and reader so it would only fit in the correct way. I have now written READER on one side of the card and VPAP on the other. Thanks.

Thanks Anne. Does your Rescan software on the desktop PC recognize the card reader without a data card plugged in? I was just thinking how amazing this is to have people from around the world helping one another.

A question was asked earlier: "Is the ResScan 3.5 software compatible with XP? "
All I can say is I am running ResScan 3.5 on my WinXP computer. No problems.
Also, the computer sees the reader when plugged in without the data card.
However, ResScan only responds if there is a data card inserted.
Began CPAP on Jul 22, 2008. Split Night Study failed to get a good titration pressure. Titrated (2 week home APAP) at 10. Currently using APAP at 13-15. Not using Humidifier. Even with SA under control, still can't sleep all night!

If reader is installed corrcetly but there is no card inserted in the reader, ResScan 3.5 displays.....
There are no devices available for downloading data
Connect a flow generator or data card and try again
Cheers,
Bill

OK. If you have a wireless adaptor on your computer try disabling it. I couldn't get Resscan to work with the card reader either until I did that. There does seem to be an incompatibility (or a resource clash) with a wireless card and the Resscad card reader.
Disable it and it will probably work.

I just thought of something but don't know if it matters or not. Is the ResScan 3.5 software compatible with XP? I guess it is if you had no problem installing it.
Anne
ResScan 3.5 is definitely compatible with XP.
