Quick Breeze Comment
Breeze
The Breeze pillows works great for me. I've had a bad night if my AHI isn't 2 or less. Nevertheless I just received a new Aura to try cuz RG told me to, sort of. Let you know how it works. My second favorite has been the Ultra FF which I use sometimes when I have allergies or nasal congestion. It also works great and but the results are never as good as the Breeze. I theorize that's because it has double the average leak of the Breeze and I expect it's response time, the time it takes to get the higher pressure to act on the obstruction, is longer and a little more gentle.

Its easy to see that we all have different bone structures and nose sizes that make more of a difference than you'd ever think, when it comes to these masks and nasal pillows and headgear and such!
Its a wonder that a manufacturer has not yet come up with a way to scan a persons head/facial features into a 3D image, then form a plastic model from that, and customize a CPAP mask!
I'm sure NASA has the specs for that.
Oh but well..... then I guess they wouldn't be selling each one of us 4 or 5 different contraptions!

You guys out there who are thinking about getting the Aura because the headgear is likely to fit your manly sized heads better than it does women's heads.....
You might want to wait until Aeiomed gets the Extra Large nasal pillows out there. (Which is supposed to be soon.)
Right now, the Aura comes with 2 sizes of nasal pillows included - Medium and Large. If your manly nares are rather big, you're gonna get leaks until the "Extra Large" are available. When the Extra Large are available, I don't know if they'll continue shipping the Aura with only the two present sizes (Med and Large) or will add a third size (Extra Large) to the package, or if people will be able to specify which two sizes they want included with an Aura.
My bet is that they'll keep on sending the Aura out with Med and Large, and that Extra Large will be an extra purchase. Hope that's not the case. One of the many reasons the Swift is so popular is because it comes with all three sizes of nasal pillows for it.
Costs the manufacturer a bit more to include all sizes of pillows? Yeah, but word of mouth advertising certainly can pay off in the long run. Besides, I'm sure ResMed counted in the cost of the extra nasal pillows they send with the Swift when they put a price on it.
It's better advertising to read about someone saying they switched from Medium to Large pillows in the middle of the night and got good results, than to read, "Don't waste your money on a #$%* ____!!! I threw it against the wall last night!!!"

And I am sure all of you thought this thread was dead LOL. Just one update. I got my Breeze and found that the Large Dialator pillows work for me. Couldn't get the large and x-tra large to seal. Been using it four nights straight and no problems so far. Guess I am lucky in that I have to extend it to the max of all its setting so taping it in place to keep them isn't an issue.
Finally getting full nights of sleep. Sorry it didn't work out for you Lori.

For Steve re Aura interface
I'm a pillows user period. I've tried all the masks and just don't get the same consistant low AHI's. The Swift is good but my favorite has been the Breeze. I've tried the Aura now for about a week and there's a good chance it will become my favorite. It sits really firmly on my head and doesn't tend to slide from one side to the other like the Breeze. The pillows are much more comfortable than the those on the Breeze but if you thrash about too much, because they are designed to sit very lightly on your nose, there is a tendency to lose the seal. The adjustments are very simple compared to the Breeze and in addition, you can actually bend the pillows which have a metal stiffener in them to maximise the angle of contact. Both of the pillow sizes seem to work equally well. I'd recommend it but like the Breeze, you have to do some fiddly fitting to get it right.

Well, I have to say, I am amongst the minority who couldn't stand the Breeze. Even when I had it sealed, it had to be with too much pressure against my nose and I know that wasn't what it was designed to be like. In addition, I found the headgear just too heavy for me. When I would turn to the side, even with two stretch headbands in different locations on the headgear, it would feel like it was hanging like a weight to that side. I had absolutely no luck at all with it and decided it wasn't worth the stress.
This morning I sold it to someone on this site for a very good price, I hope he gets more luck out of it than I did. I am getting my Swift on Wednesday and pray to God it will be better for me than the Breeze was. Hey, it can't be much worse, I don't think.
Does anybody know anything about the Snapp? I heard something about a new mask coming out called that. Hopefully I won't need to try it. I am really putting a lot of hope into the Swift. If not, I guess there is always the Aura to try or just give up and use a regular mask instead of the less cumbersome pillow types. But if you were to ask my opinion, the Breeze was far more cumbersome than the Activa I use now.
Mike, I am soooo happy that the large dilators worked for you. Four nights in a row is a success story in my book. So I guess you now have joined the ranks of those who give Breeze the thumbs up. Too bad I couldn't join you.

to FRED ref. the AURA!
FRED:
thanks very much for the information! it will help me and many others. i respect your opinion highly. greatly appreciate your responding ref. this mask as the other opinions varied so widely! i know it is so subjective from one person to another but your description of how a person sleeps with the mask helped me alot as i don't move around a great deal and this aura would probably suit me for a change of pace back up. that's probably why the SWIFT suits me and a lot of others so well. thanks again for your help!
Have a great day!!!

Rested Gal.......info! ref. the AURA!
Thanks to you also RG! Fred S. gave some great advice and i, like him also use the SWIFT. i use mostly the MED but the large are also OK. my question is given the above info, do you still think we should wait for the larger pillows to come out with the AURA? Fred seems to be very happy the way it is now! is there anything you might add? your opinion is highly respected also, and thanks for your input on this!
also read your advice to someone awhile back ref. the humidifier settings etc. i hadn't needed the humidification to much, but i read your advice and set it on low heat and tried it again--was pleasantly suprised at the comfort it gave! GREAT ADVICE!
