Brain waves?

Post by pad » Tue Aug 05, 2008 12:58 pm

I really steppin out here. I have noticed since my teen years that when I wake up I often experience a strange sensation. It is a sort of zinging sensation in my head. It starts out and quickly builds, about a second long. this goes on for a few minuets intermittent. Am I just wired different or could it be related to OSD? I thought this was a normal human experience until I asked around.

Are you sure you are human and not some kind of space alien?

When I wake up the first thing I do is yawn and then stretch all my muscles ... kin'da the same way our dog and cats do when they wake up.

I knew I'd get ribbed on that one! I also know that our family has been accused of being 'wired differently'. (scientists, engineers, musicians, and the like). My sleep study didn't indicate any neurological abnormalities. (I asked) But when I mentioned this to some of my engineering co-workers they said " that explains everything"

Pad - you sure you aren't part of my family? But alas, no, I don't zing when I wake up. And I only stretch and yawn since I got my apap. Before that I grumped and growled.

Well, in the first place you gotta have a brain to have brain waves so I guess that explains why I stretch and yawn first thing in the morning rather than having any "zings".

Sorry, Pad, a fat lotta help we are being. But, hey, you gotta keep a sense of humor w/this DD and therapy. We're not being unsympathetic, we just flat don't have any answers.

Can't tell if that is like what happens to me or not...
I tell my husband my electromagentic system is a mess! I can feel "current" in my body frequently! Most often in my feet, but there are days when EVERYTHING I touch shocks me and I absolutely feel as though I'm plugged in. I even had to switch grocery stores a few years ago because anything metal I touched in the store shocked me severely enough for "bystanders" to hear and comment on it!

Never did any drugs. As far as the shocking thing. I've heard of people that can make a mess out of electronic equipment. Maybe you're just not grounded enough? There are some really weird medical conditions out there. I heard of a guy who lost his job, marriage and friends because he was always drunk. He was on the verge of major mental callapse and went to his doctor for help. It turned out that he had a weird intestinal bug that converted food into alcohol. Sounds like a wino's dream come true. There has been some recent research into intestinal flora and weight loss. In early testing, simply by changing the flora in lab rats the rats weight stabilized. That would be a major breakthrough if you can simply get your "bugs' changed and lose weight.

I'm one who gets shocked easily. There are days I hate having to shut my car door when I get out!!! Or even push an elevator button.

I once complained to my old family doctor that my sister and I could both shower and dress and then go to the same place and at the end of the night she will look as spiffy as when we left the house whereas I will have dirt smudges on my clothes, maybe even my face or arms, messy hair, etc. Its like I attract dirt!!

He told me that some people do have a little more electricity in their body and coupled w/oily skin they are like magnets in attracting dirt. Man, if so I am a living example of a human dirt magnet!
