fustrated, but trying to be patient..

Post by irishdame » Thu Jul 31, 2008 1:34 pm

I have been on cpap for almost 4 months and I still go through the day so sleepy I can hardly stay awake. I have been told here to just be patient, so I am still trying. The question I have is this....I have a humidifier ( Remstar auto M series) and I feel my air gets warm at night and sometimes makes it hard to breath. I feel I am use to the mask ( respironics Comfort fusion), does the water warm during the night? If so, can I make it quit? I tried calling the place I bought it at, there was an answer machine saying they were going through changes to serve us better....DUH

Yes, the humidifier heats the water some and it does get warmer during the night. You can use the humidifier in passover mode by turning it to 0. What setting is it currently on? I've found that in the winter I get stuffed up if I have mine too low, but can't keep it quite as high in the summer without having rainout (or moisture buildup in the hose and mask). I keep mine between 2 and 4. It does differ from person to person.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your advice...I keep it on 2. I think I will like it better completely off while it is so hot outside...lol

Also your profile is showing you use the "Classic Tank", not the "M", either way I would turn the HH off, and if you need it cooler lower the room temp. I crank mine down to 64 degrees. Jim

Also it would be useful it you got the software and reader so you could see how your treatment is doing. You may be loosing your treatment pressure out of your mouth.
