Help w/data

Post by carbonman » Tue Jul 22, 2008 7:21 am

Here is data report from last night.

I am trying to learn how to interpret this, still.
Where can I go to get educated on how to interpret this data?

Is the leak rate acceptable?
What do I need to adjust to get the AHI down?
How does this look??

Thoughts/comments/suggestions appreciated!!

Leak rate is not too bad ...

If you look at the pressure it is bumping up against your max setting. If this report is representative of the past week, I would raise the max by 1 or 2 cm ... otherwise let it ride til a week is up then post the report that most represents what happend during the whole week.

Looking good so far though.

Yeah, your "numbers" really aren't too bad. I'd bump up my minimum and maximum pressures......or go with a straight pressure of 10 for awhile and see how that works. (you're already going up to that pressure anyway)

Agreeing with DS - Yes you are doing great. Could you fine tune it? Prob, but then you could make it worse too, so keep that in mind.

How do you feel? That is more important, to me.

While the leak numbers do look good, how could anyone say w/o knowing which mask you wore?

So that is up to you, my friend, to know YOUR leak rate. It does vary with the pressure, keep that in mind if your using auto.

Check your literature for a graph or check to see if it's listed here -

You're doing great.

I am feeling better each day.
....not leaps and bounds.....but better.
I don't sleep through the night, but longer periods and
sounder sleep.

I am only using the Optilife Nasal Pillows.

I am getting more comfortable w/it each night.
I followed up on your suggestion to use Lansinoh.
I have used it the past two nights, and it has helped. Thanks!
I started the Polident strips for mouth breathing the past
two nights. It needs some tweaks, but it is going to work, I think.

you can clearly see your use of the Ramp feature,

I would:

1. Increase Ramp pressure from 4.5 to 6.5 as you get used to sleeping with therapy, pressure below 5 may cause you to "starve" for air going that low.
2. Increase the Maximum pressure up to 15 cm, allow the machine to respond to those event later in the session so pressure doesn't bump into the Maximum ceiling. You only need to limit Maximum pressure if you start seeing "NR" show up on the report.
3. Leak is not bad, you want to keep it below 50L/m at all times as shown on that graph, at >75L/m the machine stops responding to events seen.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

The literature that comes with your mask should tell you what your intentional leak rate is, or the leak through the exhaust port at your pressure. I know on mine it is 31 at my pressure, and on a good night, 38 is what the leak usually is, so that is not bad.

I will make these settings for tonight.
I have felt a "straved" feeling when I set it to ramp, but just thought
it was me getting used to the whole thing.
I like the ramp feature, but I never go to sleep before it goes to max. pres.

It will be interesting to see if I need more pressure than what was
prescribed.

That would be great, except they didn't give me any of the literature
w/the mask. I WILL get those numbers from them.

Everyone.....Thanks! for all the help.
