RespCare Universal Hybrid is extremely noisy
RespCare Universal Hybrid is extremely noisy
I just gor my Hybrid today from cpap.com. This thing is very very noisy. I don't get it. It's the vent on the elbow. I read the review here and she said that it's really quiet unless the hose routes overhead, which it is not. Can someone explain this to me? I don't think I am doing anything wrong.

It doesn't have a vent on the elbow! Take it apart and put it all back together again. The most common noisy leak is when the silicone mouthpiece is not fully seated in the plastic frame. The vents are holes near the top of the mask in the plastic. It is a quiet mast unless you turn the elbow straight up and get it directly in front of the vent holes.

It's the anti-asphyxiation.

I assume the flap should close when the unit is on? I don't think mine is.

There a little flap where that anti-asphyxiation hole is on the elbow. When you're wearing the mask and the air is on, that flap should completely cover the hole and not be noisy. At least mine doesn't make any noise. I agree with ww, it is a quiet mask as long as you don't turn the elbow straight up. Sounds like something is wrong with yours, especially if that flap doesn't close when it should.

Cover the hose inlet and breath in and out and the anti-asphyxiation valve should close with a pop when you breath out and open when you breathe in. It should close with a pop when you put 10 cm on it. Unless it is not put together correctly, it is hard to see how it would not seal.

Re: RespCare Universal Hybrid is extremely noisy
How does it dampen the response from the machine, and does that include the Liberty that's made basically the same way? Are you talking about all machines including cpaps (cpaps don't really respond, do they, just provide a set pressure and report results in the data).Snoredog wrote:I wouldn't give you $.29 cents for that interface, noise is only one of the reasons, it also dampens the response from the machine.
probably would be better off with a good nasal mask and a butt plug _
My numbers with cpap and the Hybrid are great.
Just curious about this.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Thanks, DreamStalker, that's what I thought...
