Leakage rate

Post by houltkin » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:40 am

I'm withdrawing my question because apparently it was not worthy of this forum. Thanks for being so critical, gumby. Remember, you were new at one time too.

Leak

Yes, that will make the leakake rate very high at those times. You gotta itch though.

I would not worry what others think. But it would effect it at that time. But the over all leak rate it will not make a diffrence. Mine tells me what it is when I have it on. the number goes up and down depending how I move or if I go to my side. Your manual for your mask should tell you what the exceptable over all leak rate is. A few seconds for an itch will not make much of a diffrence.

Turn your machine off before you remove the mask to itch..

This is why it is important to have the software. Those kinds of anomalies can be accounted for and the “real” leaks can be observed at the exact time that they occur. Leak data that represents intentional removal of mask to itch, dry out the hose, or whatever can easily be identified and ignored.

There is no substitute for the software when it comes to analyzing leak data. Ideally, the software will show a straight or zipper-like plot of the continuous leak data for a leak-free mask during a night’s sleep session.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

so you can figure out how to edit your post 3 times but can't figure out if sticking your finger under your mask would increase your leak rate? Really? and delete another post , hmmm don't think air is going to help you. Really

blame it on gumby he tried to make you think, and use your ability to reason, way too much air. Really.

Leak rate

Post by houltkin » Tue Jul 08, 2008 9:36 am

Thanks for all your help. At least those who were seriously trying to help.

My main mask does show a leak rate of about 38 at 12 cm/water column, and, yes, I knew that opening the mask to scratch would increase the leak. I'm not really stupid. At the time I posted the question, I didn't know that the mask manual comes with that information. When I found it, I deleted my original message. Then came gumby. Sorry for what appeared to be a frivolous question.

I thought about turning off the machine to do the scratching, and I probably will because it will encourage me to wait for the itch to clear on its own. I guess it's all part of learning how to deal with the many unexpected challenges associated with pap use.

I used to do asbestos removal with a full face pap respirator. The itching drove me crazy then too, so I should have expected this particular hurdle.

I am not sure why others choose to act like they no more and that they are above simple questions. Sometimes we realize the answer but when it is new to us we want to make double sure that we were right. (Really) I am sure this person already new more about computers then there newly treated SA. I guess I will have to use mean scarasim with posts sense that seems exceptable and a good additude to have. Very nice. Makes me not want to even be on this suport group and just stick to the other one that I first joined that seemed more helpfull.

Houltkin, I am glad that we can help you. And just because a few choose to feel that they are better then others and smart in a sense, but then that seems to make an A$$ out of them.

Don't feel that you can't ask questions. We all have what we may feel maybe a silly question. But there might be someone else out there that went throught the same thing. Or was to afraid to ask if that may be the case.

I would never make comments to belittle someone even if I felt the question was a little silly. I would keep that to my self. Smile and answer and go on.

good luck with your treatment.
