much so he prescribed TRAZADONE 50 ms X 2 at bedtime. It helped.

I take Trazodone 100mg to help with sleep. It is actually an antidepressant but has a side benefit of helping with insomnia. Until I got used to it, I defintiely fell like I was drop-kicked by a mule for part of the day. I is mild and non-habbit forming which is good.
The amount prescribed is generally proportional to weight and hight. If the 100mg is too much, you can try just taking one of th 50mg tabs or even take 75mg without any problems and see if it is any easier. You still might be able to sleep and not feel that "hangover" during the day.
How long have you been taking Trazodone??
How long have you been on CPAP??

Narcolepsy
Narcolepsy is pretty rough, sorry to hear. I've heard some patients tell me they use Melatonin to sleep and that it works well. Plus, it's naturally produced in our bodies, not created by these drug companies.
My Neurologist Sleep doc is thinking I have Narcolepsy as well. No its not fun with also having Severe Centrals on OSA and periodic disordered breathing as well. Then my cronic pain keeps me up and causes Alpha/Delta sleep.
I guess I should ask for something. I am still up it is almost 1 in the morning and I can't get to sleep.
But yet I have no problem falling a sleep in mid sentence and then waking up a few seconds later and finishing it. And driving well that is no walk in the park either.
So I feel what you are saying.
