Greetings Jane,

I am originally from Tennessee too.. So is Rested Gal.

The S6 preceeds the S7 and now the soon to be released S8.

Basically, the S6 is a well made machine that is very reliable. There aren't any features on the S7 that aren't on the S6, except when you change the pressure on the S6 you have to use a manometer, it doesn't have a digital readout.

With all that said, the local DME can give you just about anything they want. That is why at cpap.com I see so many people who are sidestepping the local DME.

I think that people want fredom of choice. it is the American way.

Regards,

Titrator

If I were you I would take the machine back and tell them you want a newer machine that you can monitor your progress with a smart card and software. You need to be able to change your pressure to be able to maximize your therapy. Yes I think they pawned an old machine off on you. I wouldn't stand for it. Good Luck jim

The original post in this thread is from 2005.

The S8s came out in 2006 and the S8 IIs came out in 2008.
