New "Mask Off" Trial for Pur-Sleep CPAP Aromathera

Post by SleepGuy » Fri Jun 27, 2008 2:49 pm

For those who don't know me, I'm the person behind the pur-sleep products. I met a sleep doctor from LSU medical school at the Sleep 2008 convention in Baltimore earlier this month. It just so happens that he has been helping patients struggling with "mask off" problems--he called it something like unconscious mask removal during sleep but we're talking about the same thing.

I ran a semi-formal trial on the boards a few months ago and had what I consider to be a very good success rate, with lmost all of the people reporting either significant improvement or a resolution of their mask off issues.

So, I would like to try to duplicate the trial and try to involve this doctor somewhat in the process.

I will provide up to 10 people experiencing "mask off" problems with a free Basic Starter Pack (including domestic shipping). More information about the products can be found on the website.

Several days after the product arrives, I will send participants, via email, a rather short survey that I ask that they fill out and return to me. Other feedback, on the forum or private is also encouraged.

If you would like to participate, please send me an email (no PMs please) to support@pursleep.com along with some discussion about why you feel like you qualify for the trial. I am specifically looking for people who are struggling with unconscious removal of their mask during sleep. I have had problems with a few people making stuff up so they can get free product and then not participating in the feedback, so please provide as much honest detail as possible about your situation. Also, please include a mailing address.

Personal information is used only for purposes of the trial. I reserve the right to decline trial applicants.

I was one of the participants earlier (the non-official testing!) and had a good experience with the product, as I reviewed here. (Not waking up to unpleasant smell or removing the mask in sleep).

I would suggest, though, based on my own experience, that you stick to the essential oil blends and not the Air Candy line for this one....I've tried all of them since, and the more "natural" scents seem to be much less obtrusive for me, particularly when groggy in the middle of the night!

Thanks--that's exactly what I am doing this time: back to the basics. People seem to like the essential oils more than the synthetics, though there are certainly exceptions. The most important thing is to find at least one that you find to be pleasant.

I also was a participant in the last Mask off issue trial. As I stated in my Review, it helped me tremendously. I not only have quit taking my mask off at night, but I do not wake up as frequently as I used to, that in itself means so much. Thanks again, Bret, for a wonderful nights sleep with PurSleep.

I too was able to participate in a past trial and have fallen in love with the natural line of products. I am glad that you using those in this trial. Hopefully they too will reap the benefits of using this aroma therepy of sorts.

Thanks for letting me participate in the past!

So everyone wish me luck. I'm going to shoot two video clips in the morning, one on the aromatherapy products and one showing off the PAP-Cap Chinstrap. I'll put them on YouTube and provide links in my next Newsletter.

This trial is still open. Thanks to those who have responded. I'll be going through those emails this weekend.

We are sooooo lucky to have Brett aboard our forum!! He is truly dedicated to making cpap usage more comfortable and finding products that really work!!

I have been included in his previous trials and am very greatful he has dedicated a portion of his life to developing these products. My son-in-law's mother was recently diagnosed and prescribed a cpap. She is having a horrible time adjusting to therapy. I have suggested she take a peek at the forum and about Sleepguy's products. She is in that river of Denial and of course it is the machine and masks that are at fault and not her.

For all those that are having problems -- email Sleepguy. You will be glad you did!!

Start Date: 8/30/2007 Pressure 9 - 15

This trial is still open for a few more people, especially with "mask off" issues.

Okay I have a few questions

Post by nw guest » Mon Jun 30, 2008 11:04 pm

This is for anyone who has tried PUR SLEEP

The more I read about Pur-Sleep's products, the more I am interested in their products.

Which products are the ones you most reccomend - to say a family member?

Now of the natural oils, which ones do you like the most? Why? Which would you reccommend a person who has sensitiviies to the more chemically stinkified items?

Thanks
Currious

Peace. That's the least offensive one in the line.

Comfort and Calm both smell bad to me when sniffing the bottle, but when combined with Peace work nicely for sleeping.

Spice if the person LIKES Market Spice Tea. If they LOATHE it, run. It's a very distinct Orange-Spice scent.

I'm not a big fan of Clear. It smells good out of the bottle, but I don't sleep well with it. I think I'm too sensitive to the peppermint in it. Some people love it, others just can't sleep through it.

Cheers,
Babs

Bump--this trial was undersubscribed. I'd be happy to take on some more "mask off" people.
