humidifier up or down?

Post by Eleena » Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:08 pm

My humidifier is set halfway between 1 and 2 which has always worked fine. For the past 2 weeks my nose feels like I inhaled bleach. I don't really know how else to describe it. I have also had a runny nose for 2 weeks. I am not sick and no allergies. Would it be better to turn the humidifier up or down and how much? Thanks for any replies.

I had something similar, I won't go into alot of details.... but what was hapening was; my mouth would open up during sleep and air would travel through the nose and out the mouth and couse flu like symptoms.
My remedy was a full face mask, but before that a few of the good folks at this site recomended taping the mouth shut at night. it worked!
there's a whole thread on this subject.
I don't no how to link this to you but if they read this thread they will get you hooked up.

Thanks Jethro! I do tape my mouth every night. I am also using AYR nasal gel at night and now using it during the day because my nose hurts so bad.

I do not suspect the humidifier setting is the problem. But if you think it is, then be aware that most people find the right setting by trial and error.

Good luck.
