I've seen folks do this more elegantly. They are probably either smarter than I am or have more time. I hope some of you in the know can look at this and offer some advice.

Hello Charles,

IMHO, your leak rates are too high and it would probably be best to work on that first. What I've noticed is that when my leak rates are too high, the rest of the numbers don't seem to be the same as when my leaks are well-controlled.

Have you tried a stabilizing band around your mask? Have you looked up tweaks and hints about your particular mask on this site?

Try searching using google site-specific feature:

search terms site:cpaptalk.com

eg

comfortfull leaks site:cpaptalk.com

Good luck!
Mindy

I'll try the stabilizing band. Thanks for the Google tip!

Is there anything else of interest in the report?

I think I'd try to get leaks down first and then take a look at other features of the report.

What leak rate number should I be looking for?

You need to look up your mask and pressure (should be in the papers that came with your mask) to see what your leak rates should be.

For example, I'm at a pressure of 13 with a Swift II (sometimes) and leak rate should be around high 30s. That doesn't mean that 40's is "bad", but if it should be thirties, double that would be on the high side.

Somewhere there's a link to a chart of common masks but I don't have time to look right now ....

I looked it up and my leak rate should be around 30.

my opinion:

1. Your 12.0 cm pressure is on the ledge of just being enough, any mask leak and your sleep turns in to a train wreck such as seen on 6/9 and at the tail end of the session on 6/10.

2. Controlling leaks appears critical to your current therapy settings, where leak is maintained and under control your sleep is not that bad, but again current pressure only works if leak is down, you may have to bump it up by 1cm and look for improvement (increase should also help lowering snoring).

3. Some night sessions look very good (little SDB activity) and others are a train wreck, there can be many reasons for that, having a glass of wine with dinner for example, allergies flaring up etc.

To rule out allergies, you could try taking a benedryl before bed and logging what days you take it and compare reports. Benedryl will also help you sleep.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Thanks, Snoredog!

I was hoping you'd pop by to give a more definitive answer.
