Resmed copy's again!

Post by neverbetter » Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:29 am

I was shocked when I saw Resmed knock off the Hybrid but now that they have knocked off the Opus, it's obvious they can't be original any more.

Shame on them. Can't they come up with something on their own?

Personally, I don't see any harm in companies using ideas from each other (where legal) when it can only benefit us, the consumers!

I agree with Mindy. Don't mean to pick a fight but I am glad to see Resmed offering knock offs. I just hope they are better because I generally prefer the Resmed masks.

I think if there was some huge innovative new way to make these masks different that the manufactures would step up and do it. I believe that they are in a learning curve right now...learning from us...and that eventually there will be masks that make everyone happy....Okay, I can dream, can't I!!

The Swift LT looks like it may have an improvement over the Opus. I know that the "spaceball" on mine is leaky.

The Liberty...looks like it's a step back from the Hybrid. Unfortunately, my DME could not get me a hybrid.

But I also don't mind blatant copies....keeps the costs down for us.

Uhhh ... Actually, the costs went up on those copies ... by about 50%

As a former Opus 360 user, I CAN see the difference.

The Swift LT is much better (for me) than the Opus 360. The Swift LT is lighter, easier to assemble, and the dual pillows seal much better than the Opus 360. I no longer have leaks and can actually sleep on my side. For the first time my AHI is under 5 and I attribute that to the Swift LT and the fact that I have very little leaks and can sleep in any position and the mask stays in place.

I still like the pivot head on the hose that the Opus 360 has over the Swift, but for me, the Swift made the difference in my treatment.

Personally, I can't wait until I'm eligible for a replacement mask in Sept. It's going to be the LT...looks great and all of the feedback seems quite positive. I can't quite understand where this hate for a particular company comes from. I've seen this on these forums before and objectively can't seem to figure this out.

Agreed! I think that sometimes when one has a bad experience with a company it can leave a sour taste. That has happened to me, too. But at some point it's healthier to let go and move on.

imho only!
