Has anyone here tried The Pillar Procedure ? The Pillar Procedure is three tiny woven polyester implants are placed into the muscle located at the junction of the hard and soft palate.
One of my close friends that am sure has mild to moderate sleep apnea and snores heavy isn’t interested in taking a sleep test since he said he would never use a cpap. His wife is wanting some quite sleep time without going to another room for the night. I gave him this link but told him I had only seen it on TV and didn’t know if it really worked. Or how long it lasted.

The Pillar Procedure
My dentist works for the VA and said they try treatment with an adjustable mouthpiece for those that refuse CPAP. It seems to cost about the same and works for some people. Unlike the implants, if you decide you don't like it, it is not permanent!

I would first get a sleep study done and then look at it. I talked to my doctor about it and he did not feel it would help much. I did get the CPAP and also had Weight loss surgery and was having problems with CPAP and now I have a dental device and adjusting to it and works well. It will take a while to go through insuiance etc. SOme will pay others not. Just depends.

Pillar procedure
Tried that once.
The placed three. Couple of weeks later one started to come out and they removed or pulled it out.
Two or three months later another one started to come out and the doctor also removed or pulled it out.
They didn't do that much to control the snoring. Will not go for those again.
Now years later was diagnose with sleep apnea and with the cpap machine wife says there is no more snoring.
