I think it is important that doctors take it seriously when someone is on antidepressants and still complaining of extreme fatigue.

I once said to my psych that I thought my depression symptoms seemed to revolve around sleep and asked for a sleep study. He said no.

It would be months later before my GP made the suggestion that I get one. Based on the size of my tonsils. A total fluke. But one I'm glad happened or I'd still be suffering and my son would have been an only child with a mother with tons of health problems. Now he is going to have a baby brother some time in the next month and I'm healthier now than I have been in years.

I haven't seen the questionaire they mentioned but have heard good things about it. Some simple questions would have done the trick for me years ago if it were widely used.

I haven't seen this being touched upon, though maybe i'm in a minority: extreme fatigue/sickness after very stressful or emotionally draining situations (without depression), that doesn't go away.

In my case, my father passed away after one month in the hospital. I got really sick afterwards from the stress, it was exhaustion and fatigue, not so much depression. My GP just waved it off as depression, though I wasn't really depressed, just felt really tired all the time and sleep schedule was all out of sorts. Bloodwork came back OK except for CRP (??) was high, which I think indicated some low-grade infection or inflammation. He said take Prozac, I said NO WAY and left. I KNEW there was a physical cause just didn't know what. Took another 2 years to get diagnosed with OSA.

My point is that in my case I had been suffereing from OSA my whole life but I still managed to have a half-decent life, until at some point an emotional/traumatuc event put me over the edge and I could no longer function normally. (Before I had still felt like crap, had headaches, weight gain, etc, but I could still go to work in the mornings, do my duties etc). But afterwards that was nearly impossible.

The misdiagnosis was that I was suffering from depression due to the event, although I made it clear to the GP that i was NOT depressed.

anyway whatever that's worth to you!

good luck, and good initiative !

This is quite a nice topic to discuss, well in my opinion i would say mental health do equals Sleep disorder, because if we don't have good eight hour sleep, our mental pressure would be high,we will feel lot of stress in our work,so if you want to be stress free have good eight hour sleep
