cpaptalk.com Poll: Equipment Replacement
Howdy,
For those who prefer to cut to the chase, we'd be very pleased if you would take our survey and let us know what you think about Equipment Replacement and online systems that facilitate them:

This poll is put on by cpaptalk.com and cpap.com. Many of you let me know that you took our last poll "for the good of the community" but had some reservations concerning the questions and possible answer choices.
This time around, it's us asking you. We want to know how to put out polls that you want to take. We want to make sure that the questions and answers will allow you to give input that will steer the CPAP community in your preferred direction.
If you don't like the questions, answers or anything else, please simply reply to this thread with your comments. I'll be reading the survey results as well as replying to questions and concerns on this thread.
Thanks in advance to all those who take the time to make this community, the CPAP market place and CPAP production better.
Also, I'd like to thank everyone I've chatted or PM'd concerning the quality of cpap.com's offerings. There are quite a few sweeping changes and significant upgrades currently in the last stages of beta testing. Many of these are the direct result of people letting me know what is working for them and what is not when they purchase online, or browse cpaptalk online.

The first few questions I did not reply to as I have not been on therapy long enough to need to replace anything. I'm finding even my filters never get noticeably dirty in the 8 or so weeks I've had my machine. But I still wash the washable ones.
As far as your poll/survey goes, I have a few suggestions. From the replies to your last poll from a manufacturer, I think we've learned people here are passionate and have strong opinions about their sleep apnea and anything related to it. Because of this you need to provide at least one question that allows unrestricted text entry/feedback. Even if you don't read all the responses, at least it makes people feel like you are listening, and gives them a way to state their opinions.
1. For questions like where you ask how often do you replace something, you need an option that allows people to answer "Don't know" or "Does not apply". As in my case I haven't replaced anything yet.
2. You should consider having one question that asks "what do you tihnk about this survey" with a text entry box for feedback.
3. You should consider having one question that allows someone to write into a text entry box additional thoughts about the subject but allows them to provide information you didn't think to ask.
I'm not sure what tools you are using to create and manage your polls and surveys, but there are some very powerful ones out there. In my business I have some advanced modular survey systems we can add to any website. because of this, I have some flash presentations that talk about implementing surveys and polls on websites that may give you some tips on implementing yours more effectively. If you are interested drop me a note and I will email some stuff to you.

I think a question to start every poll would be the length of time one has been on xpap.i, e. Less than 4 months, 4mos to one year,, one to two years, more than two years.I think breaking up first year is important as some ppl just can t handle it and opt for surgery or nothing. I also think a question about whether one has an auto or straight pressure might be interesting to add somewhere.

I'm too new to answer, and live to far away for the other questions to be relevant (e.g. phone call) but, I would add a "according to the manufacturers instructions" option to the questions. Though I am aware that that will make data gathering more complicated for you.
