[quote="Bookbear"]... and allowing the hose to be routed over the head for us side sleepers, woo-hoo! One of the .pdf files shows an 'optional' hose clip that holds the hose either at the top of the head strap or on the side.

The pillow contraption looks like it sticks out further than the original pillows do.
Also..would the tube have to go straight up, over the nose and between the eyes? I personally like having a clear field of vision with the original swift pillow system.

Anyone lining up to order this? (cpap.com says available May 30th to ship.)

I have the original Swift, which I dusted off to try again now that my pressure is high enough (13) to glue my tongue to the roof of my mouth and put me back in the market for a non-FF mask.

It's noisy as heck (especially compared to the Mirage Quattro), leaves me slightly sore in the mornings, and does have a large barrel that makes side sleeping a bit fussy. I love having minimal junk on my face and no leaking into the eyes, however.

With the smaller barrel, promise of a quieter exhaust, I'm tempted to try but since I pay out of pocket, I'd love to hear reviews on how it feels before I spend $160.

BTW, the weird lower straps are to adjust to different facial widths, according to Resmed.

[quote="Needsdecaf"][quote="rooster"]What is the purpose of the two "tabs" on the headgear that lie on the cheeks just to either side of the nasal pillows?

My swift II is so quiet, I cannot believe they are advertising the swift lt is 70% MORE quiet! Amazing. I tried the opus and the opus 360--hoping they would be an improvement over the swift design, but I keep coming back to the swift. The pillows are just perfectly shaped for my nostrils and no other manufacturer fits my nose as well. I am very excited to try this mask. Looking forward to hearing more about it. It looks very promising. IF they kept the nasal pillows the exact same shape, it looks like it could be the perfect nasal mask for my particular nose!

have an order in for new swift- June 1 think

Post by packer » Sat May 24, 2008 9:12 pm

spoke to DME on Friday- she had just spoken to rep- talking about new swift-
so she called him back and I should have one as soon as they ship

I have been using the aura - works well for me

I have insurance that will buy mask every 3 or 4 months- so
it is time to try a new one- I did use the swift 1 and 2 and both were good-
they are my backup now

I'm hoping those 'stability' tabs will help hold the nose piece away from your nose. I'd like to use a nasal pillow mask but I hate how they squish up against my nose. When I pull them away just a little, they're quite comfortable and are still sealed, but it's not like you can sleep while pulling a mask away from your nose.

So I too am really looking forward to the first user reports.

I wonder about rain out tendency??

Post by packer » Mon May 26, 2008 9:28 am

I am thinking this would be a really good travel mask-

which got me to thinking about the hose needed- it would be so much
simpler to not have to haul along the aussie heated hose- converter etc-
the hose and aura takes as much suitcase room as the apap

I will be out in Wash DC in couple weeks- I imagine the
humidity to be high and rain out a real problem-

Any good solutions for travel heated hose?

Placed my order...

I know it'll be like 1/2 price in two months on cpapauction, but I couldn't wait. The close-up pictures on cpap.com sold me...

As for the heated travel hose... Washington DC in the summer... You probably don't even need a humidifier.

I have considered for travel purposes getting a 2-foot hose. If you want it heated go creative with a Repti heater. You will need to be extremely careful with that much heat on that short of a hose.
