You know what I noticed? IN addition to what seems to be a porportionately large number of dog breeders, there are also tons of cat owners, and a surprising number of teachers. If you look at the old threads about people's occupations, a LOT of them are teachers.

What does this tell us? Beats me!

Too much dog and cat hair?
Too much exposure to moldy old school buildings and germ-spreading kids?

Your observations are right on target!

Teacher assistant and dog owner here. Highly allergic to cats. Hmmmmmm....

This leads to another question. How many here have allergies?

I'm still loving my shapeable pillow, although they get pretty mushy if you don't thoroghly fluff them up before each use It almost feels like the filling is some sort of structured water (but not as structured as Jello!) I was able to pull a tuft from one of thseams of a new pillow and its a fiber/filament that is very fine and curly - and slippery! A bit like nylon when you pull a thread and it gets all fuzzy so you can hardly tell were the thread is, but it's slippery too. Interesting stuff. Wonder if it could be teflon threads?

I still can't figure out how to put a picture on here, so if anyone wants to see Charlie you can visit one of my Webshots pages. Here he is in all his little glory:

Linda, I got this when I tried that link to go look at Charlie:

"An error has occurred.

If you have a picture of Charlie on your computer, and if you know how to attach a picture to an email to send to someone, PM me and I'll give you my email address. You can send Charlie's picture to me and I'll post it here for you, from my website.

On the topic of pets - we have a 2 yr old Saint Bernard named T-Bone and a cat (Kitty). My husband and i are empty nesters as of last year and lucky Tbone gets the full benefit of our need to nurture!
On the pillows - we don't have Target nearby so i had to order mine and they are not due til August!

We WERE empty nesters when we got Charlie, but daughter number one is teaching in a very low income school district, had some medical bills so moved back to get caught up financially. Now she says she doesn't want to move out until she gets married. Yikes! Anyone know any nice eligible bachelors 25 or older??? Daughter number two will start her fifth year of a music education program and she will probably be home in December!

I did check out the Target web site and noticed that the pillows were backordered. No Target? I would really miss that. That's my store for fun browsing. If you would like the pillows sooner, I can buy them locally and mail them to you. I wonder if the shipping cost would be reasonable? They are very light, but would be bulky. I'm not sure if they charge by the weight or the weight and size? Let me know if I can help.

Hey Lucky Linda - how kind of you to offer to buy pillows for me! I couldnt ask that though, and will wait patiently in hopes that they arrive earlier than expected. I've heard good things about Target stores; they are actually planning to build one here - but neighborhood folks are putting up a fight.
Too bad you live in IL - I happen to have an available 23 year old son (handsome, well employed, community volunteer, firefighter, and identical twin!). He is lonely and can't find the right girl.....
