mirage liberty limited flow through pillows

Post by MrRandom » Sat Apr 26, 2008 7:33 am

So I tried out the liberty. It's far more comfortable than the quattro IMO. One problem though is when I move around while asleep somehow the pillows pinch off and flow through them is limited and it ends up waking me up and they are a pain to get readjusted. They popped out of my nose once. My AHI and leak isn't any better so far. My eyes are not helped either. The temporary punctal plugs I got could be dissolved by now, I don't really feel them anymore.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to help with the pillows being pinched off?

I love the benefits of the Liberty. Best mask ever; good fit. But I have the same trouble with the nasal pillows. When I move around in my sleep, they become pinched or simply slide out. I have to sit up and fart around to get them back in. More often than not, I just give up, pull it off and go back to (unassisted) sleep. Ideas?

dental floss wrapped around the arches and around the pillows pulling them inwards or do the following which for me provided 100% pillow seal

I stopped using my liberty due to leaks especially around pillows when I turned over. Iwas tidying up another batch of useless cpap stuff and found and old chin strap which never worked but then I experimented. If you wrap the strap around your face with the cup for the chin now sitting directly on your nose. What happens is the bottom of the cup covers the pillows and 100% stops them from popping out doesn't matter what I do. It also creates a little more seal for the top 25 % of that mask. The strap is the cheapie 1 strap version with Velcro and only needs to be tensioned very very lightly. I also find I can now loosen the top straps way back so hardly any pressure on my nostrils

ky jelly as well. On the pillows...

When I was using the Hybrid mask I sometimes put lanoline on the pillows to get a better seal, and it worked pretty well. Unfortunately, the Hybrid always creates a little pressure seal at the base of my nose after I've worn it for a week or two, so I go back to the Liberty.

Lanolin on the Liberty just made the pillows slide around and pop out even more easily!

Wouldn't KY do the same thing?

I'd like to try the dental floss trick. And still looking for other suggestions.

Jeff

Have you tried the rubber band trick?

This was done on a Hybrid for the same problem but may just work on the Liberty.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

The rubberband trick is good
and on the hybrid, you can trim the cushion shorter bt trimming where the cushion is inserted.
It worked well for my beard.
