I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in December 2007 with an AHI of 73. I first started out with the Remstar Plus and the Liberty Mirage. The mask worked ok for about 22 days, ironically 1 day longer than the time frame to exchange it. So I taped and went through at least 7 different types of tape, it got to the point where I was only using cpap for four hours a night. All I could think was there has to be a better way, it is ridiculous to have to go through all that just to sleep.
A blessing in disguise when my insurance changed in January. I got a new script for an APAP and a new mask. I got the FP431 for the mask and I absolutely adore it. I have slept 8 hours a night with the mask on every night since I've had it. And I am so used to it being there that I forget I have it on, countless times I have tried to scratch my nose, only to bump into plastic. I love not having to tape the device to my nose.
Taping and all the craziness

Hello & Welcome, givemesleep! Glad you found this forum--SO much useful info and SO many helpful people here!
Consider youself among the fortunate few! Took me almost a year and a half to get good results, not until after I found this forum and learned about monitoring/tweaking my therapy. Great to hear that you found the right mask and that your CPAP is working so well for you so soon after beginning.
