Thanks sleeplessinaz, I've been looking at the Swift II so I think I'm going to give it a try. It's time for my insurance to pay for a new mask so I'm going to call them later today. If the headgear doesn't go across your forhead that will be great! The headgear on some of the mask can be a pain in the butt. I was looking at the comfort gel also. Is that the one that you can boil and it conforms to your face? It sounded like it might be comfortable, but then again all of the mask I've used so far sounded comfy until I used them. One of these days we'll find the "perfect" mask and when I do I'm going to buy 100 of them!

[quote="sleeplessinaz"]Hello---I am still trying to find that "perfect" mask too! I have the Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillows. I loved it until it started leaking and making sounds while I was sleeping. I put it away for awhile and then got it back out recently. I kept waking up all night as the air sounds were so much louder than a nasal mask. So I put it away again. I go between the Comfort Gel and the FlexiFit 407--I guess at some point I will get the Swift II back out again. It has an awesome headgear and does not go on your forehead. PLUS you could watch TV with it on your face ---so give it a try as it might work for you!!! Good Luck!

I alternate between a nasal mask and a nasal pillow mask. I have the Respironics Optilife. My nares were very sore when I started because I was wearing the petite size pillows and they were small and slid up my nose and caused sores. Now I use the small size and they work much better. Sometimes I have leak issues and I use polysporin in my nose and that helps with the seal of the pillows. This works fine if the inside of my nose isn't sore. If it is, I use my Resmed Ultra Mirage II which is a nasal mask. This one is a little too long from bridge of nose to mouth, so I get tired of it after a few nights in a row and I notice the skin next to my nose starting to look red. I find that switching back and forth works well for me. I'm due for a new mask and I just saw the Resmed has a new one called Mirage Micro - I'm going to have to check that out.

You might want to consider a nasal prong type of interface. I use the FP Infinity, but they're discontinuing it. I've also got a NasalAireII, which is almost as good. Since the prongs actually fit up into the nares, they stay in place pretty well, even when I'm tossing and turning. I expected the feel of something stuffed into my nose to be annoying, but once I got the size right, I find it reasonably comfortable and more secure than the one nasal pillow system I tried.

Of course, like everyone else, I'm still looking for the perfect mask!

Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I ended up getting the Swift II. I've had it for 4 nights now and I'm really pleased with it. This is my 11th mask in 2 years so I hope I can deal with this one for awhile. The only thing about the Swift is the back buckle hurts my head so I put some padding on it. I haven't used it yet with the padding, but I hope it works. If it doesn't I'll have to find something else to put on the buckle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that maybe I have found the mask that works for me!
