[quote="lloyd"]We should demand that all CPAP parts be made without Bisphenol A, especially the ones being heated.

I wonder when they did that study who's ghost writers they used?

I don't trust the results of ANY single study any more, 9 out of 10 are usually found wrong by yet another study.
OK Snoredog, I'm saying this entirely tongue in cheek and in good humor. . . what study did you find out that "9 out of 10 are usually found wrong by yet another study." : )))) Hope it had a large sample size and a double blind : )

I spent months being pounded by professors drilling home this point and being forced to produce sound research. Ever since I find most studies aren't viable.

The US government statement about bisphenol-A says that some studies indicate that there is some concern about the safety of bisphenol-A exposure.

It seems that very little is known about the risks of normal exposure to bisphenol-A in humans. I distrust the objectivity of some of the articles and I am not sure if any of the articles written on the subject can be completely trusted -- either way.

Hot water leaches considerably higher levels of bisphenol-A from polycarbonate than room temperature water.

Because of the greatly increased leaching of bisphenol-A associated with hot water, t may be worth being concerned about polycarbonate use in heated humidifiers but the risk from the use of polycarbonate in masks is probably much less than in a humidifier. If there is a risk, because of the prolonged exposure while sleeping, people on CPAP probably receive a higher level of exposure to bisphenol-A than the general public.

Bisphenol A

How about the fact that these products continue to leach toxic chemicals long after we are "done" using them? All that disposed-of plastic doesn't just vanish by magic, it is still in our ecosystem, leaching out chemicals for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. And we keep making more of it every day. It is pathological.
