Got the result of my sleep study
According to the test, I am now need 10 cm of air pressure from 8 cm.
I tried 9 cm and I was getting AHI = 3.8 and at 8 cm = 3.6, at 8.5 cm = 3.3.
What would I expect to see at 10 cm? Will it be worst?

I guess you won't know, till you try it.dudley_doright wrote:According to the test, I am now need 10 cm of air pressure from 8 cm.

I'd say......give it about a week, at least, to see what happens.
Good luck,

One night the entire story does NOT tell. Gather ONE full week's data at ONE pressure setting, and do NOT change anything else that week. Then try ONE full week's data at the next pressure change and do NOT change anything else that week.
Any of those AHIs are well w/in what is considered comfortable limits and acceptable. No two nights of sleep are exactly the same and you could well have experienced any one of those AHIs at any one of those pressures on any given night.

Can also be said about sleep studies, too.......Slinky wrote:One night the entire story does NOT tell. Gather ONE full week's data at ONE pressure setting, and do NOT change anything else that week. Then try ONE full week's data at the next pressure change and do NOT change anything else that week.

Last night results
So, I changed the setting to 10 last night and this morning my data was better than before.
OA 1.1
H 0.3
VS 0.0
AHI 1.4
Why do I still feel tired?

That's GREAT! Give it some time. Make sure you're getting ENOUGH sleep, too. Do you have any other medical conditions/issues?dudley_doright wrote:So, I changed the setting to 10 last night and this morning my data was better than before.

In all honesty, I've been wondering if it's something about this time of year. I've noticed quite a few people have made posts on the forum that they're feeling this way......and I've noticed that MY butt's been dragging since the beginning of the year, even though I AM getting enough sleep. My sleep sleep stats have been fluctuating more, too. Maybe everybody is "tired" of Winter.

CPAP is VERY seldom a "miracle" cure for disordered sleep. VERY seldom does a new user feel great from their first night with CPAP on. Most of us take 30 days or even more to feel fully refreshed after a night of sleep.
Did you ever ask for and get not just the doctor's dictated results report (1-2 pages) from both your sleep evaluation study AND the titration study(ies) but also copies of the full scored data summary report w/graphs (5 or more pages)? You may well have an additional sleep disorder(s) that could be contributing to your less than restful sleep.

thanks
I have not received copies of the study yet, beside I don't think it will have detailed information on it. The sleep lab that I go to seems un-organized and I doubt if they will give me the data.
We do not have the same options as you here in Canada. Our government pays for the study and half of the expense for the CPAP machine, so we cannot demand for the same service. I remember a year ago when I got my machine, I had a hard time convincing the DME that I need Respironic Pro with smart card. Most patients in Canada only get the basic unit. I have to pay extra to get mine which is $200 more than what the government will pay. Getting an APAP was not even an option even if I pay the extra cost. I was told that the government will not be paying their share if I get that. So I opted for the Pro instead.
Anyway, hopefully my body will adjust to the new pressure and give a good sleep.
Den - I don't have any medical issue. I have actually lost 10 lbs since August 2007 and I am continually losing. My goal is to lose 20lbs total by this summer.
