Using the utility at http://www.mycpap.com you copy your SmartCard to disk and Email me the file to UPMCPAP@hotmail.com .

All you need to buy in that case is the card reader only. That's all.

I must confess to being more than a little curious why Sam has suddenly popped up on the forum offering to run reports peoples' data. Call me cynical if you want...

Hi All,

Just wanted to post a quick update. I got the Respironics machine with the integrated humidifier. Luckily, I have had no problems with the tank, although I have left the O-ring in place when I cleaned it. The humidification has been adequate, although I find the tank capacity a little small compared to my old Resmed.

And now, using the APAP and the data, I am feeling more alert and better rested.

Thanks to everyone!

Welcome, Timothy.

Read "Our Collective Wisdom" (the yellow light bulb), CPAP FAQ (the red ballonon), and http://smart-sleep-apnea.blogspot.com/.

You will find excellent machine comparisons at https://www.cpap.com, where you can click on machines that interest you and have them compared on many parameters.

Timothy, the Respironics M Series Auto w/A-Flex is the newer of the two models. I have no experience w/either so can't comment on the differences or any preferences.

The model with A-Flex also has C-Flex, but the C-Flex model ONLY has C-Flex.
So, the A-Flex model has more modes to choose from. You can also turn them ALL "off", if that works better, too.

Thanks. I had a earlier model of respironics - Solo Plus. Does any one have any knowledge how to change the pressure setting. In my recent sleep test at the hospital - the doctor said that I need to increase the air pressure intake but I do not have the manual and there is no service support for this old model in my country.

Tim, I don't have a manual for that machine, but perhaps this will help:

Solo or Solo LX CPAP:

First, with the machine plugged into a wall outlet, unplug the cord from the back of the CPAP. Now, press and hold the Pressure On/Off button (the round button on the left) and the Ramp button (the oblong button on the right) down at the same time while plugging the cord into the back of the CPAP.

The pressure setting will display. To change the pressure, press the Ramp button and the pressure will increase 1cm of water pressure each time you press the button.

When you stop pressing the Ramp button, the signal light will flash one time for each cm of pressure to correspond with the new pressure setting. If you wish to verify the setting again, press the Pressure On/Off button. The signal light will again flash one time for each cm of pressure.

To exit and save changes press and hold the On/Off button while pressing the Ramp button once. The machine should quit blowing and the green light should light up.

Between the two machines you asked about... the Respironics REMstar Auto with C-flex, and the Respironics REMstar Auto with A-flex...

I've used both. I'd get the one with A-flex. Very, very nice machine that makes breathing out feel extremely natural.

Thanks a lot. You've been very helpful....I am giving this machine a try again and hopefully will work well on me. A cpap in Singapore is costly.. approx US$1500.00 without the mask .

Hi all thanks for all your help. After reading thru some of the suggestions, I've bought the Respironic M series A flex and the nasal pillow mask
