Sore Ear Lobes

Does anyone else have a problem with the lower strap from the headgear riding up, folding the ear lobe over and causing irratation? Or maybe a solution.

These are some of the choices in masks that you can look into that do not have straps below the ear.

Sorry John. Swift headgear goes OVER the ears and was making mine sore too. I loosened the lower strap and tightened the top one....

and then bought a better pillow that doesn't mash the headgear into my head (see thread on "Pillows") ("shapeable" pillow from Target)

Have the Mirage Vista and was having that problem. Since I was using a chin strap I decided to loop it under the strap the below my ears rather than over my head. Solved a few problems that way. Less straps on my head, no slipping of the chin strap and no ride up of the strap on my earr lobes.

Don't know if this will work for you, its all dependent on the head gear. Good Luck

That pillow really helps. It even helps to hold the Swift in place when I side sleep. It stays soft under your head, sort of like water - supports without pressure.

Hope you find comfort.

Would it be possible to attach a strap across the upper part of your forehead to keep the headgear from dropping back and onto your ears?

My problem is the bottom strap rides up causing the ear lobe to fold over and I end up sleeping on it that way. The next morning, it is sore. If I wake up, I pull the strap down and ear to relieve the pressure. I just wonder if there is a possible fix to prevent it to start with. I use a pillow to sleep on. I guess the turning causes it to slide up.

What kind of mask are you wearing? If it's a nasal mask, you could try headgear from a full face mask (It's much longer in teh back and it may ride lower on the back of your neck and not ride up on your ears. I would go in and try it together with your mask before you invest in, the headgear from the ultramirage full face mask is much better than the other styles of headgear.

I now use a Resmed Mirage, the one discontinued. I have two of them because they are light weight and the hose goes over the top. It is a nasal mask. The strap on the latest one is bigger, bulkier than the older one without much give. Will look at the full mask strap, thanks.
