Well, I've searched a bunch and still can't find an answer to my question.....so here it is:
I have a hybrid and it seals around my mouth really well, and the chin flap is comfortable. However, even with the pillows in the tallest position, they still do not touch my nose (the large pillows do touch my nose but only just barely, and they're too big anyway).
Should I cut the chin flap off? I am thinking that it may allow me to position the mask a little higher on my face and then the pillows will fit. Does that sound right?
Thanks, everyone, for your advice!
Hybrid pillows are too short...should I cut the flap???

Hi Bert, I have the Hybrid and to me it and the Activa are the two trickiest mask on the market to find the fit for it to seal. If you watch the video, it shows to place the pillows first and to roll the maks down over your mouth. I tried this with the Small cushion and it seemed "too" small, the Medium fit better. I have a double chin, so really could not get a mouth seal at all. I cut the chin flap off the Small, and it fit lots better and was more comfortable. But due to my high pressure, I couldnt get a seal at all with the pillows. I just gave up on it. It took forever to get the straps just right. Esp. the bottom strap. Have you read Roosters post on fitting the Hybrid? It is really helpful!!!!

This was very helpful for me. I really and truly did not like the Hybrid as I thought I would, It was just not comfortable at all!!! Right now, I use the Headrest and the Activa. Dearly love both. Don't like the headgear on the Headrest, am going to take care of that. But I love the pillows, They go a little farther into the nostril that others, and the way it is designed, the air wont blow the pillows out of my nose. I don't even notice the full pressure, just like the Activa.

I, too, have that unsightly double chin and have to use the Hybrid without the chin flap because of that. No chin flap does allow for more movement of the mask in order to get a good fit, so you could try that.

Thanks!
Thanks, everyone! I'm going to take the plunge and cut off the chin flap! I have read through several of Rooster's posts, and watched the manufacturer's video several times, but I just can't get the pillows tall enough to touch my nose. I'll let everyone know how I do.

You absolutely can clip it off . Because you get 3 cushions, first cut one you don't need and try it.
My Liberty pillows fit the Hybrid (but Hybrid pillows do not fit liberty) in case you just want to order taller pillows.
The hybrid pillows are more comfortable so try clipping off the chinflap first. Good luck !

It took me a long time before I finally cut off the chin flap, but it does give you the ability to place the oral cushion more comfortably with fewer leaks. Even tho' the chin flap never bothered me, it is much more comfortable without it.
