I'll take the mask if no one else wants it...

Let me know...

There probably are a lot of people who would gladly take the mask off WillSucceed's hands, but they can afford to buy a mask or they have insurance that gets them new masks on a regular basis (even if they might have to wait longer than they'd like.)

I think WillSucceed is doing a very, very generous thing by offering it if someone is in a real financial bind and absolutely can't afford to buy a good mask.

Hope it finds a good home. The Activa is a great mask, imho.

I would also be happy with this great offer. But I am ashamed that I can not afford to buy this mask. So I do not tell who I am (go not login). I live in a poor country in another continent anyway, very far from you. WillSucceed, special greetings to you from a very-far-cpap user!

Boomer?

Ivory soap leaves a residue unless you actually scrub off the soap. Try baby shampoo (the plain kind).

Just got around to watching the CD that came with the Swift. They specifically say to wash it and your face with a "mild, natural soap, like Neutragena." But that stuff is expensive, so I wash the equipment in baby shampoo and save the Neutragena for my face (MUCH diluted with water!)

Guest, you sell yourself short; these masks are expensive and few of us can afford to try them all out. The whole point of this is to give the mask to someone who would benefit from it and, could not otherwise afford it. I'm only able to make this offer because I have insurance that paid for this and other masks for me. The Activa is a great mask, it just does not work well for me.

So, reconsider your situation, log in, and send a private message to me. If I can help you out, I will.

Have you tried using microfoam tape on the bridge of your nose? I found this is better than moleskin. By using the microfoam tape, I have not had a problem with soreness on the bridge of the nose
Hi Yoga:
Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried several different types of tape including Duo-derm. The tape helps to slow down the skin abrasion, but it does not stop it. Also, it seems to take a long time to heal so, I just use the nasal pillows (Comfort-lite, Swift, Breeze) and I am fine.

free mask

Post by Terry Flower51 » Tue Jun 14, 2005 11:52 pm

Hi...I'll be seeing my doctor on Thurs for a recommendation of how to proceed and what exactly happened in my sleep study. So far he's said I do have sleep apnea and I stop breathing 38x an hour.

Our insurance does not cover everything and if I understand it correctly, will cover up to $1,000/90% after deductible. I must have used up what it will cover just from the sleep study itself, not counting the visit to the dr and to the dme to get equipment if I understand what the ins clerk told me.....
My dh is leaving the country for a short term mission/humanitarian aid trip in Nov and we are trying to save up what we can for him to take w/him (I can't go w/him this time because the money is just not there). That, and "life happening" has made it difficult to think about getting the equipment needed. If you think I am a candidate for receiving the free Activa nasal mask please get in touch w/me! gdturner49@aol.com. Thanks, Terry "flower"

Activa

Thanks to all who responded to this thread. I've offered the mask to one of the people who contacted me. This person has promised to pass the mask on for someone else to use if it proves unsuitable.

Thanks again to everyone.
