A new H & R mask

Post by jimbassett » Thu Feb 14, 2008 5:25 pm

Last week I ordered a Hans Rudolph 7600 V2 FF Mask (medium) I got a large today. Dang it!! I tried it on and can just barely get it to seal. It is a very well constructed mask and looks to be a winner if its the right size. I will try it tonight, but if its a problem getting a seal its going back. You would think the people filling the orders could get it right. Guess thats too much to ask from those who cannot even speak english. Later jim

I should have added that I did not order this mask from cpap.com I ordered it thru our local DME. They agree it should go back if it doesn't work.

Well I couldn't get the V2 mask to seal. It was just too big so it is on its way back to Where ever its warehouse is. I changed the order to a SMALL size as it seems the sizing on this mask is at least one size bigger than most other masks I have tried. Hope it comes in soon. regards.....

question about post

Post by lifeartist59 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 8:59 pm

I noted you use the same machine that I do, and got a new mask that is not on the list of masks to use with the machine. Did your dme tell you which setting to use for the mask or are you just going to guess which one on the list is closest? Thanks for any help.

Machine making companies also make masks. The never check their competitors masks on their machines, so they CYA and try to gain some more business by writing those warning.

Just imagine how what would happen to the employee who made sure those warnings were phrased like this:

"Finding a mask to fit you face is crucial to the success of therapy. If our company doesn't make a mask that fits you, do not use our machines."

I checked out the leak rate and it is real close to the Ultra Mirage FF so that is what I will use unless the small is different. Whatever is close works for me. jim

I'm glad to hear you've ordered one of our brand new V2™ Mask. I see that you ordered through a physical DME and are taking advantage of our size gaurantee. You are correct about our mask sizes being larger than the competition. For the most part we see success in those patients that order a size smaller than they usually wear in other masks. Let me know if you have any questions.

V2 mask

The fit of the small is perfect. I have enjoyed this mask with its simplicity, and ease of adjustment. I'm satisfied it will be a much used mask. So far my no's look very good also. My daytime overall feeling is above par over some of my other masks. Thanks for your contribution to the thread. We appreciate the makers taking an interest in our well being. Thanks again, jim

Jim,
I think it would help us if you could give a list of you other masks and their sizes, to we we'll get a sense of what an HR mask's small is equivalent to.

I hope that's not too much trouble,
Thanks,
O.

I have not tried the V2 mask yet, but did try three sizes of the original HR mask. I found that their masks run a full size LARGER(Eedited because preg-brain made me write the opposite) than all the other full face masks I tried and FOR ME the smaller the better. While I used a medium in the comfortfull and ultramirage, both the small and extra small worked for me in the HR.

I think the original HR mask is very nice and expect the V2 to be even better. The best thing I like about it is that it has very few hard, inflexible parts. The bulk of the mask is a soft silicone that conforms to the face better than any other FF mask I had tried. I still prefer my swift II, but if I had to switch to a ff, I would choose this brand.
