in a long time. I know it was REM cause when the alarm rang to get up, I was trying to asnwer the phone, and the lamp. I was so out of it for like 15 minutes and I have not had that kind of deep sleep feeling for as long as I can remember. The doc said at my sleep study I never got into deep REM, and he said since i wake up 81 times an hour, i probably do not get there often. so, i have to say, on day 7 of auto pap i am doing better already.
wow, there is hope!?!?!!!

Got some deep sleep
Angi - Congrats! Had to chuckle when I read your post. I too remember my "first time" - I didn't know what had just happened to me.
It was a foreign feeling to have such a distinguishable difference between asleep and awake, because for so long I felt stuck in a place of torment called "Almost There".
I'm guessing that drugged feeling was due to waking up during deep sleep instead of waking naturally. But once I crossed that sleep barrier, it became the norm for me. I still don't sleep on a regular schedule or enough hours in a stretch, but thankfully, EVERY time it is so very good. That's about the only good thing to come out of the years of sleep deprivation - the rest of the world's normal night is your miracle.
Hope this is the beginning of good sleep for you too, Angi.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for your reply.
Deep sleep is an amazing feeling.
I almost can't wait to go to bed.
I totally know what you mean about being stuck in the middle of awake and asleep. I never (until this week) feel like I really sleep much, i mean i am so close to being awake,...hard to explain but it sounds like you know what i meant.
Have a great day!
