Post by manojc » Mon Jan 28, 2008 10:55 am

I am new to this. have been diaognised with Severe OSA. CPAP machine advice by the doctor. Pressure = 10 cm H2O

I am based in New Delhi, India, and three machines (all amanual) that I have seen are:
1. Probasics
2. ResMed S8
3. GoodKnight 420G (Puritan Bennet)

Sales persons are running down their competitors, but let me ask you, and have a opinion from users.

Pl respond ASAP

Of the manufacturers you have listed you want the ones that allow you to monitor your progress with efficacy data -

Go for the ResMed S8 Elite or S8 Vantage ... stay away from Compact and Escape models.

Or

The P&B Goodnight 420E ... not the 420G.

Best of luck!

If you can't get a PB 420E - which is automatic, insists on a 420S, which will collect some improtant data for you.

You'll need software and a cable to get data from the PB machines, the Resmed's will show you the data on an LCD screen.

In India the model names will be the S8 Autoscore (= S8 Elite) and S8 Autoset Spirit (= S8 Vantage).

Cheers,

Bill

I'd concur w/BillBolton's recommendations. I haven't had the opportunity to try the Puritan Bennett but I would only accept the 420E model. I have both the Resmed S8 Elite and the Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage (North America) and LOVE them both (they would be the S8 AutoScore and S8 Spirit where you are).
