I use mine - even when I nap. Can you hold your breath for anything under an hour?

Besides my apneas and the majority of my hypopneas happened during NON REM sleep.

I don't think you can conclude that just because you didn't have Non REM apneas during your sleep study, that you'll never have them during non REM at other times.

How long have you been on the blower? I think you will see that after a while you won't be able to sleep without it.

That being said, I think you would want to wear it whenever you are having a nap.

Carrie,

Since you have a data capable machine which is an auto, here's a thought. Lower the bottom number in your pressure range to what is comfortable for normal breathing for a few naps. See if it stays at the lower pressure consistently during your naps or if you have apneas and it goes up. Some people hit REM sooner than others, so that one criteria of when one normally hits REM may give you a false sense of safety. But the data will tell the tale.
